Tottenham are reportedly winning the race for Liverpool and Chelsea target Armin Bacinovic.
The Palermo midfielder joined the Serie A club from Maribor last summer as a relative unknown but has gone on to receive rave reviews for his performances during his debut season in Italy.
Bacinovic - a Slovenia international - moved to Sicily along with compatriot Josip Ilic and both have been consistently linked with moves to the Barclays Premier League - with their most notable reported suitors being Liverpool and Chelsea.
However, according to Sportingo, Tottenham have now entered the race for Bacinovic and will 'pip' Liverpool and Chelsea to his signature in the summer.
The 21-year-old's stock has risen dramatically since during his short time with Palermo and he is now commanding a reported fee of around €14 million.
And, despite Spurs, Liverpool and Chelsea seemingly waiting in the wings, Bacinovic's agent does not feel a move in the summer would necessarily represent his client's best interests - although an eventual transfer to England is likely to happen.
Amir Ruznic told TMW: "Armin, in a few years, will certainly be ready for Liverpool or Chelsea, but now I know nothing.
"Just yesterday I spoke to someone asking about these rumours, of which I am not aware of. Certainly within a year, he will be a player ready for a top club."
Sportingo reports that Bacinovic's eventual destination will depend upon which of his suitors is competing in the Champions League and, despite Chelsea currently finding themselves outside of the top four in the Premier League, they and Spurs look more realistic European options than Liverpool.
The Reds, however, will do all they can in terms of summer investment to make sure they qualify for the Champions League at least next season and Bacinovic has not ruled out a potential move to Liverpool
