Milik would be a more than capable signing for us. Just get him in before Kane tears something. He's a strong option off the bench and would be very reliable to replace Harry in cup matches. It's hard to imagine Jose starting many matches with two strikers.

If what has been posted on this page is accurate, then this seems like a Levy deal. A player from the list who can be obtained for less than his market value iue to his contract situation and his team's situation. Yes, I am definitely more excited about Eduard or Wout, but every time I look at our roster I can't figure out who is going not be in the squad on a regular basis if we don't clear out quite a bit of space. Doing this type of deal also leaves flexibility for other options in the future. I am all for it at the right price.

I won't lie, seeing the Morata to Juve confirmation did pique my curiosity a bit. It seemed that Dzeko to Juve and Milik to Roma was all but signed and delivered, but if it's officially off we could do something quite shrewd here with Milik.

Especially given that new #9 of ours coming off the right flank I think having a forward who is a good passer and intelligent player becomes even more of a key. Seeing how Kane played 4 brilliant assists on Sunday with relative ease, and imagining a horrifying creative situation when Lo Celso/Tanguy might be unavailable made me think Milik could be a big time option. The reason I say this is he's the closest thing to a 9/10 hybrid that we've been linked to, as I alluded to in my post earlier in the thread...

Tall and great hold up player, unselfish with great vision and likes to drop deep - I think that could be an excellent fit with Bale and Son being near strikers. As I said, I really think he's the most talented striker we've been linked to.
I’m in!

I hope the Napoli chairman has applied the lube ready for his Levying.

Sounds like this deal is falling straight into DL’s lap. Player entering final year of his contract, now running out of suitors with less than two weeks of the transfer window to go, I can definitely see DL taking this one down to the wire as there seems good potential to drive both price and wages down now.

Milik wouldn’t be my first choice, but if I were a betting man, my money would be on him now.

I watch alot of Italian football and this guy is total pony. It would stink out like a jansen and French wingers let's hope it is a smokescreen because he would struggle to get into my Sunday league side ?

No idea on reliability. Don’t think this one will go away until he signs for someone

In this Covid world that we live in, why on Earth would we be meeting face to face when all could be done over the internet? Personally I think that article is bollocks.

By my recollection he wasn't just on the list he was number one on the list, the one we were hanging on for before we made a decision on any of the other strikers.
If that's right and this noise is right then I guess our strategy was correct and paid off.
It doesn't really excite me right now though.

Not upset at it but he was pretty low on my own list of rumoured targets.

Weghorst, Edouard, etc. better imo.

That said the fact it’s a capable player and not Troy freaking Deeney makes me happy.

Would be curious to hear you expand on this... I don't watch any Italian football, but has scored 48 in 120 for Napoli and averaged .57 goals per 90 last season, which was best on Napoli. From what I've read, he's meant to be a pretty good passer as well. What is it about him that makes you think that he wouldn't fit into the squad?

It doesnt appear like we have a specific target or order of preference. It seems like we'll go with whoever is most cost effective out of the 4 or 5 on the list.

My uncle (who is Italian and a juve fan) says this guy is pretty good, surprised juve didn’t go for him. Good sign as he watches a lot of bloody games.
