Lloris - 6 - Couldn't do anything about he goals. Made a few good saves.
Walker - 5 - not very good.
Naughton - 5 - out of his depth.
Gallas - 5.5 - was unlucky with the 2nd and not tight enough for their 3rd.
Verts - 6 - good ball to set up the goal. Tired towards the end and lost the ball for the 5th.
Lennon - 5 - if he's not taking on his man he's useless. Unlucky with a first half effort that just went wide.
Sandro - 7 - got stuck in as usual.
Hudd - 4 - Was at fault for their first goal. Helped set up their 2nd. Well off he pace.
Bale - 6 - great goal but defensively very poor.
Adebayor - 4 (7 for his play -3 for getting sent off. Cost us big time). Sublime/Ridiculous.
Defoe - 4 - After Ade went off he may as well have left the pitch too. Missed a great chance with an air kick.

Subs:
Dawson - 5 - lost a header to let them in for the crucial 4th and wasn't tight enough for their 5th
Dempsey - 6 - probably his best game for us.
Carroll - 6 - knocked it around well enough.

AVB - 7 - I'm not sure 442 was the way to go and we didn't really get to see it work for any length of time due to the sending off, though it started well. But his second half change of formation was ballsy and I think we gave a good account of ourselves.

For the team as a whole, as I can't be bothered with individual ratings atm.
9/10 before the sending off. I thought we were excellent at the start, played really well, totally deserved the lead.
5/10 between the sending off and the 40th minute. A bit shaky but not as terrible as I'd feared. That came next...
0/10 for the last five of the first half. That was just shocking, completely lost it right when we needed to hang on.
7/10 for the second half. Responded well to a change of system and I assume a bollocking from the manager at half time. Actually dared to dream for a few seconds after the 4-2 goal and Bale's shot across goal a minute later. The fifth was very harsh on them.

I'll do these later when I have time but seriously how the fuck has Vertonghen got such high marks so far? I thought he was all over the place, second half particularly.

Good team selection by AVB apart from Gallas ( as usual ) , we looked like the better team, scored a goal, but the team let down by early Red card from striker.

they scored from their 1st attemp, the goal goal was a bit poor luck, no one expected us to come back to the game with 1-3 at half time and down to 10 men, then early goal in 2nd half didn't help, but we kept going, AVB reacted tried to change things, 3-4-1-1 or 3-4-2 might worked as Bale scored one and almost getting another, if it or that Defoe miss went better, we could see us chasing for 4-4. Dempsey also had decent chance at last 5 mins, poor control once again. This is far better 2nd half to that one we lost 2-5 last season, considering to the fact we are without several players plus playing with 10 players around 70 mins.

AVB had to do something with Gallas & Dempsey, i really can't believe that they are getting more mins than Dawson & Sigurdsson, they aren't doing well, enough is enough, this isn't fair competition for places. I would accept that he used Dempsey this time because were short upfront, Dempsey could be useful as behind striker or inside the box as he is good in the air.

I'm happy enough to AVB to give his all time to turn things around, specialy as just around 40 days away from transfer market, but seriously the man need to help himself, and to remove Gallas & Dempsey in his plans from next EPL game or i would change my mind about AVB himself as the man to take us forward.

Gallas shouldn't be even on the bench, he is so weak since the 2nd half of last season, we are paying the price for sacking the manager who knows the players. Harry did it with Keane, Bassong & King, and i think AVB must take big decisions now.

Lloris 5.5
Walker 5
Gallas 3
Vertonhen 5
Naughton 5.5
Huddlestone 5
Sandro 7
Lennon 5.5
Bale 7
Adebayor 5
Defoe 4.5

Dempsey 2
Dawson 6
Carroll 6.5

To be fair to him, Bale was supposed to be left wing back but played like a left wing forward for most of the second half meaning Vertonghen had nothing in front of him. That's two big games in a row when Bale has offered next to nothing defensively. It's bad enough he doesn't do it against the likes of Wigan, but it's inexcusable when he doesn't do it against the top teams.

Verthongen wasn't any better than Gallas, but it seems the popular thing around here to give him higher marks regardless of their performances.

I agree, and Bale is someone I am going to stick it to when I come round to the ratings. But Vertonghen isnt helping himself, he doesnt get tight to his man ever and was backing out of challenges and then rounded it off by gifting them the ball for the last goal.

On the surface Ade cost us the game, we will never know the outcome of that game 11 v 11, but up until sending of it looked good, they were even deferring to us and conceding ground which was very ungoon like.

lost discipline in the remainder of the 1st half and then the changes really lifted us at half time, and but for better finishing (or less selfish play) we would have made a game of it... (ah if only Lennon could shoot, 2-0 would have been a much nicer position...)

Stand outs were Sandro (as per) and Vertonghen (until the 5th goal) Thought Daws and Carroll also did well when they came on.

Good selections and subs/tactical switches from AVB which is nice.

I'm a huge Ade fan and a Defoe hater but there is no way on this earth that Ade should get higher marks than Defoe - Ade basically cost us the humiliation of this annihilation.

Thought we were looking good for the first fifteen minutes, Adebayor was holding the ball up and causing them problems. that partnership was looking good. When Dembele comes back with Sandro In the centre that's a strong athletic centre and I think 4-4-2 with them atleast until we get other options is the way to go. Can't wait until gallas comes out of the team. The only time he finds our man is when he passes back to the keeper and that's alot even when he's not under pressure.

but Defoe was also poor, difference is Ade was all good apart from Red card, Defoe also should have done better with Adebayor goal at first place.

Adebayor was probably on an 8.5/9 before he went full retard. And in fairness he had his eyes on the ball, wasn't malicious. Just fucking dumb. Showed want we can really be with a quality player up front. He looked passionate and scored , can't wait till the fucking numpty is back. 3 games:(

Defoes run and attempted finish were quality old chap. Agree about Ade though
