According to a Russian journo Artur Petrosvan, Anzhi are preparing to transfer list most of their stars as their owner is fed up with ongoing conflicts between them.

Their manager Rene Meulensteen is expected to leave tomorrow...

We were very much on the verge of signing Willian last summer - could AVB / Levy be tempted to pick up the phone to Anzhi and bring another Brazilian in? The player himself expressed interest in coming to PL a few weeks ago.

A worth replacement for ...ahem...

The owner, has suffered health problems, and has decided running the club isn't worth the hassle anymore. All players will be on transfer list.

Also unfortunate for Meulesteen ex Utd coach, as he just took the job on there.

Obviously Willian, they have a number of Brazilians, and Moroccans.

Also Denisov the centre mid is a good player, but getting on a bit now.

The owner bought Roberto Carlos a Bugatti Veyron for £1m just for being Roberto Carlos.

One article don't make it so.

This has been kept very low key for such a big story

Eto'o anyone?

I know.... Wages are too high:(

I wonder if this is the case for most of them. I bet Willian got a pretty good pay package to go there. And most players are loathe to take pay cuts.

But here's hoping.

Realistically they'll have to or end up somewhere similar, probably facing similar problems overall. Willian has expressed in no uncertain terms that he wants to play in the Premier League, and that he likes AVB. Traore and Eto'o would be very cheeky. Also Jucilei is rated, alongside Kokorin.

Willian and Meulensteen, please.

Meulensteen would be great in principal but now he's stepped up to management, where would he fit in? Not sure he'd be willing to drop down into coaching staff again. Remember seeing an interview with Van Persie outlining Meulensteen's importance at United, so would expect there to be a number of suitors able to offer him a better role than we could.

So the question becomes, what is he on?

And here's where I realized I had made an assumption that Anzhi payed so much that it would be nearly impossible to get this kid even if he took a cut.

But this may not be the case, because what I have found says he's on 2.5m euro a year. Not a bad salary, but switching to GBP, he's on 41k/week.

We could even give him a raise at that rate. :D

However I imagine that his salary in Russia is post-tax and if so, I am under the impression that this would make him more of an 82k/wk player. But that is still within a range we can potentially afford. All that is based on the assumption that this number is correct, which we can never tell.

So maybe things are a little more doable than i thought.
