That Ramos is coming here purely for the money??

From what i can gather, hes already stated his heart will always lie with Seville.........Think he was on something like 1.25 a year in Spain, and by all accounts, were quadrupling that amount,so it would make sense for him to sign the contract.Succesful of not,he'll walk away with 20 mill within 4 years.

I hope im wrong, but so far,ive not heard anything about being excited about being at Spurs, just that he had to take the job for the sake of his family, which again, leans towards the money side of things.....

ramos:

I greatly appreciate the opportunity to work as Head Coach at Tottenham Hotspur, a club with a great tradition and history. Ever since I started my coaching career I have wanted to work in England

I genuinely believe that there is the potential to achieve great things together.

I was hugely impressed with the Spurs fans both home and away when Sevilla played Spurs last season and it will be a privilege to be the coach of this club with the huge support it enjoys both at White Hart Lane and throughout the world

read his statement on the site

Yes because people involved in modern football tell the press and fans the truth the whole time.

When a new manager or new player comes along with the 'I love this club' or 'It was my dream to play/manage for this club' sort of comments I ignore it because half of they don't mean it.

Am I concerned about Ramos coming here only for the money and leaving the moment a bigger club comes a long? Not really. Sadly that is modern football. If your manager is doing a brilliant job a bigger and better club/national association will come along and try and poach them off you. If Real Madrid want to offer Ramos a job a few years down the line then that means he must be doing a good job here.

Isn't Alex Inglethorpe suppose to be the Spurs manager of the future or something? Maybe if Ramos does leave, Inglethorpe might be the one to step up.

^this. I hate it when people when accuse players or managers of being mercenary. That's like... umm... what work is.

I doubt he'd risk his career if he didn't think he could take us somewhere.

I'm suprised the ol' Spurs PR team didn't wheel out the old "childhood Spurs fan" line. Every player we buy they seem to feed us the same old :bs:

I think Ramos is here partly for the money, it would be stupid to suggest otherwise, but I reckon he has a soft spot for Spurs. He would never have won that second uefa cup without our lacklustre defending.

Of course the money was motivation for him. He is probably not a lifelong Spurs fan with a with a burning desire to manage our club. He aslo seems like a real professional who will do everything he can to get us success on the field, and if the money is extra motivation for him then thats fine my me as long as he takes us forward.

I don't think he asked these wages to join us .. he would be very happy if we decided to give him 60K pw as Sevilla can't do that ( he is getting 90K pw as i think ) .. Also, Daniel Levy always known as good business man who can get his man with the right price with the right wages .. but this time not .. i think Ramos name and current wages will make Tottenham value a lot highter when MJ was here and that's why i think romours about DL is looking to sell are true !

Forget the money aspect....its only money and money can only be spent.

The club believes Ramos can bring greater success than the previous manager so let the games begin.
