Just caught Jose's interview on SpursTV
Quote "it confirmed a few things for me" and "opened a few other question marks" and "will help me in the future of my decisions"
I think that sounds ominous for one or two members of the squad.

Ouch!!

So was I, aged 24!!!!!
Good man yerself Cabin!!

Late 70s / early 80s were pretty dark days in Ireland so taking a bus load of young men down through South Armagh and over the border would have been pretty risky in those days.

So big up to my da - he obviously loved the Spurs!!

???

Winks simply is not good enough. Don't like saying this as he's a born and bred yiddo but it's staring us in the face whenever he plays. His ability is not enough for our level.

Bale does need time and I think we all expect him to come good. Class is permanent

Sanchez has gradually got worse and worse since Poch left. I think his days are numbered. Skriniar as his replacement hopefully.

Davies is another Winks. He tries, but his ability is not of the required standard. They're both honest players but not good enough for us. There is an argument for Davies to be retained as a squad member but in my opinion, he can't be relied upon.

Dele's days are numbered too. My guess is Jose wanted him out this summer but is doing his best to accommodate.

I think Ndombele is becoming a very important player for Jose. He has the ability to create something from nothing and we were crying out for a player like him tonight.

Hopefully he starts against Brighton because I've a feeling that match will be similar. Especially if Brighton go a goal ahead.

I think the reaction today has been over the top, when teams make so many changes, sometimes you have games where it feels flat and no rhythm, especially in europe. Poor game poor result but it doesn't need to be bigger than that, going into player threads to say this and that person needs to be sold, there's a few lacking confidence and the shit they're getting is overboard, I don't think we need to be questioning Jose either over what is the first real bad performance since the start of the season.

If we're gonna lose a game, I'm glad it's this one, glad there was no injury too, let's see how we do at Brighton where we hopefully turn our home results around.

Ouch - just saw Jose on SSN and I fully agree. Some players won’t like it but they can’t expect to see any first team action for the foreseeable after tonight.

Sorry but when 4 players get taken off at half time you can't point the finger at 1 or 2.
I'm not pointing the finger at anyone, old chap. I'm just thinking that given the fact that a couple of those he took off at half-time haven't been starting much and have had question marks over their form, it's not unreasonable to think they won't be picked by Jose in the foreseeable future, if at all.

What did you think I said?

What on earth are you talking about?

Not every player who ever gets substituted has played badly // is in the firing line // in having the finger pointed at them // is being scapegoated // insert alternative childish hyperbole here

I did not watch any of the match, something that i am now very glad about tbh.
But that kind of result is frankly unacceptable and a bit embarrassing to say the least.

Poor performance on the whole, but we’re going to get them now and again. The 2nd half was a game of inches. Lamela is a split second quicker and he gets on the end of the Aurier cross. We equalise and the dynamic changes.

Credit to RA though, they defended extremely well. Can’t remember the last time I saw so many efforts blocked.

Something to sleep on for me: how many pass-and-moves did we see successfully done? Bergwijn and Bale both tried maybe 1 in the first half and it seemed to work. Dele and Winks seemed to want no part of it. Lamela and Sonny are better about it but it felt every pass was uncomfortable or inches off. It’s a worrying part of our Mourinho build up play: either it’s not drilled into the team or we have dribblers rather than passers up front... we play very few combinations and are both narrow AND predictable at the top of the box. This gets better with a full first team but it’s a glaring issue that’s being papered over by Son and Kane’s brilliance.

Jose’s selection was a shocker. While our defensive unit were fit, it was still a massive gamble putting Davies in at CB with the less-than-impressive Sanchez, who seems completely timid and unable to impose himself. The midfield and forward line was a shocking mishmash of players struggling for form and fitness, so the complete lack of cohesion was to be expected.

Ok let me explain for you again it was a shocking team performance including the 4 players that got hauled off at half time not because they were having good games. I not going single out Winks, Davies or Sanchez because everyone was awful.

I know what you are saying about the subs but from what i was watching GLC was miles better than Winks in the first half and Vini was first too and holding up the ball nearly everything it came to him so was doing as good as he could in the situation.
But as Jose said if he could he would have change the 11 at HT so I don't think saying that the 4 that got replaced were the 4 worst players in the first half.

It was on Jose. He's the coach.
Making 4 changes at ht is the international football sign for 'I fked up the team selection.'
And its not as simple as if the players are of the required standard. You cant put an 11 out there, who haven't played a competetive match together, in a european away match, against a team who haven't lost at home in an ice age, with a new striker, 2 players who are still trying to get fit, another player you've pissed off, a left back at centerback and expect it to go well. Especially when your club has never won in Belgium in its entire history.
And then theres the way we played. Thats also on Jose.
Also playing Winks, who clearly isn't of the required standard and leaving him on the pitch.
Apart from that he was bang on and it was the players fault.

I totally agree anyone could of been taken off at half time as they were so bad. As mourinho said when the whole team plays bad it has an effect on individuals performances so I'll given certain individuals the benefit of the doubt on this occasion.

Have to say i'm not really sure why Toby didn't play considering Dier was back against Burnley.
