Another club partnership?

Has anyone mentioned this one yet?

In the sun today (I know) within the snippet about us possibly buying Osvaldo there is also a few lines stating that we are setting up another club partnership like the one with Real Madrid but this time it is apparently with Roda JC over in the Eredivisie.

It states that the deal would "enable Tottenhams fringe players to gain first team experience in Holland as well as giving boss Andre Villas-Boas first option on the Eredivisie outfit's top stars"

It's then followed by a quote credited to Roda's managing director Marcel van den Bunder saying "we're going to London in September to draw up plans"

Do we want another partnership? Do these things actually hold real value to us or are we put off by the wonderful partnership we have with Madrid?!

why wouldn't we? reading the description it sounds pretty good for us... and I doubt Roda JC will be buying any of our players.

Could be a very important link up. If Baldini gets to work signing some top young foreigners then where better for them to learn for a season or two.

Hope it happens.

We're apparently pretty cosy with Ajax too, LLM mentioned that we used their medical department for the Gareth Bale blood spinning last season

Giving a certain Mr Halilovic something to mull over..? Dutch youth development's great too, as well as the competitive experience. Such a good league for players to cut their teeth.

A lot of the benefits of these deals will be of youth development that probably wont be seen for a few years yet.

Surely we'd be buying one of their players if we're talking to them ? That's how these things usually come up. Do they have any good young talent?

There are major benefits in a relationship like this to get visas for young players from South America and Africa!

Players can get visas far easier in Holland and can play for Roda's youth team or even higher whilst essentially being bought by us, this allows us the opportunity to cherry pick the best young payers from countries like Brazil and Argentina for low fees and without paying exhorbitant fees or having ownership issues later on as they get older.

Well, a partnership like this would make sense for both parties.

We can loan them players to help them compete and in return, when their players are ready to move on we could evaluate them and determine if we would like to bid for them.

Looking over Roda's transfer policy, they are generally buying players on free transfers. So, we could obviously offer that to them, but probably even give them better quality players.

I don't think it's been asked yet (why?), do they have any decent players at this point?

That or we're loaning someone to them.

Would have likely been Halilovic.

Maybe if they unearth the next Gareth Bale we can spend next summer shamelessly tapping him up while all the time raising their worldwide profile? I do love a good partnership.

Our partnership with Madrid is at youth level so what happens as a result we don't get to hear. The general assumption that it has anything to do with first eleven players is erroneous.

Chavskis relationship with Vitesse has benefitted both sides.

We get their top stars ? What top stars ? Having a laugh.

Instance of the top of my head, Moses Daddy-Ajala. We were definitely linked with him, now he's at Ajax. It's a league that intelligent youngsters learn their trade as they know that they'll get games, unlike our league where it is shameful at the dearth of young talent on the pitch. Arguably it's because our league is more competitive. If we used Roda as a platform to blood in youngsters that we have acquired or they've used our scouting network to attain, then I can only see it as a win-win situation. Probably the best developmental league in Europe, although Germany and France bring in younger players faster than us too, in fact most leagues do...

It's a platform to become a star in a bigger league.
