Guglielmo Vicario gave 18-year-old star Lucas Bergvall a piece of his mind in Tottenham's 1-1 draw with newly promoted Leicester

If you're talking about the goal we conceded I think that's a bit unfair. In real time it wouldn't have been obvious to those on the pitch that Romero was at fault for that goal, only on replay is it obvious to us watching. If you play the game then you kind of know everything moves so fast and you're concentrating on what you're supposed to be doing that it probably looked more like Porro lost his man than Romero walked past him. When they watched the recording back then they would have seen it clearly. It was a bad error and could have been costly so he needed to be called out on it. He has to learn quickly. But Vicario has to do the same with everyone and I didn't see him doing it with Romero so it kind of looks like you're acting tough by shouting at a kid but not to someone who's harder than you!
He wasn't right to scream like a banshee at him, though. Get a grip of him by all means, but use just a little restraint. It was a bad error and within his (Bergvall's) control for a long moment. Vicario was right to call him out. Bergvall looks like he will be an amazing player but he is still learning and will make mistakes. However we can't afford brain farts like that. Could have cost us the match.
I agree seemed a bit much. I support the sentiment but not the execution. He wasn't right to scream like a banshee at him, though. Get a grip of him by all means, but use just a little restraint.
I agree, it was a bad to pass to him in that situation but after that it was his decisions that made it much much worse. I think Vic was telling him not to try that when he has 2 players on him. He is learning and getting bollocking from the senior players should be part of the learning process and setting standards.Don’t blame Lucas much for this to be honest. He was given a terrible ball with two Leicester players already around him. He was given zero support once he’d received the ball, no one to pass too. If Vic wants to scream at someone it should be the others.
