You can see the potential, but 50m is ridiculous imo. Another Villa signing that leaves me scratching my head.

Certainly a case of quantity over quality. I'd even go as far as to say that what Villa are doing now is not too far away from what Everton did a few years ago.

They have a very good manager, but losing Luiz and one injury to Watkins and they could be looking at a lower half finish imo. Especially with the added CL games.

That's before you get into possible FFP problems in a years time.

I mean im more surprised they have £50m to play with on one signing. Only 2 weeks ago they were doing dodgy deals with Chelsea because of PSR. Whats changed, has that allowed them to forget about PSR until next year?

Think they drop a heavily loss making year in the calc and have significantly higher revenues next year. At the same time early in the window so see how balanced they are come the end

Yeah I'm not sure with Villa really. I mean they lost Luiz so Onana just kind of keeps them as they were, and I think it's questionable as to whether their other signings will greatly elevate them. I do think it's a bit up in the air and they could prosper, but their business doesn't necessarily leave me 'worried' in any way.

Although they are different positions I can’t help but think this move is going to mean we get Ramsey from them. They are stacked in midfield now…

Has all the physical attributes to be really good, so depends on his mentality, concentration levels, ability to follow instructions etc.

Haven’t ever been super impressed by him. Villa spending 85M on maatsen and him. I guess they weren’t skint

They sold luiz and a youth kid for good money. They're owners have plenty of cash to splash and champs league revenue to back it up.

They're a club with a plan and massively on the up. I think onana is a good signing for them. They're not far short of a really strong squad.

I am concerned that they are structured and planning well for the season.
As of yet, not a huge upgrade on the pitch but if they carry on with this rate they will building something quality
