He looks more like the player we want Onomah to be rather than the player he currently is.

Fair enough but it would be a big outlay for something we already potentially have. Onomah has a very high ceiling if we can coax it out of him.

What kind of player is he? Is he an in and out defensive midfielder or has he got some attacking qualities? Can't remember that I've seen him play.
Haven't seen that much of him but i'd say more of a Wanyama Winks hybrid. I'm sure someone who watches Napoli a lot more would be more qualified to give an answer though.

Diawara and Onomah are not really comparable at all. Diawara is a defensive midfielder, he’s essentially Vic. Not sure why people are comparing the two as they have completely different skill sets.

Based on that video definitely looks a Poch type. Big strong powerful cm .

Not sure why we'd by him unless dier gets shipped off so he can rotate with wanyama.
The two of them together would be formidable I guess, if erisken played deep along with them

Agreed - could even let Eriksen do what the hell he wanted, in a number 10 role

If he meets his potential, he could be Napoli's (or, Levy please, ours) Patrick Vieira. Big, strong defensive midfielder like Vic, but much better on the ball. He could play with Onomah (if he makes the team), not instead of him.

and he is a beast in football manager

Looked pretty single paced to me from the Real YouTube. Could be wrong but I like to see some evidence of sprinting every now and again. Whoever mentioned Vierra forgot that he was a box to box midfielder who bombed forward.

Don't see why Napoli would sell us one of their best players. Especially as they're trying to win the league.

I really like the player but do we need him with Wanyama and Dier already on the roster? I think we need another Modric type, due to the uncertainty around Dembele and his health, not another DM.

Holding/deep playing midfielder I would say

Pjanic would be my preference buy highly unlikely.

Is this http://www.calcionapoli24.it/ a reliable source or is it the Italian Daily Star? Looks a great prospect so hope there's something in it.
Napoli fans on Reddit are hesitant but consider it credible.

It seems to be the case that it isn't a long-established publication but it was the first to break the news of Napoli's interest in Lucas Torreira from Sampdoria, which was subsequently confirmed by Di Marzio and the player's agent. The report regarding Diawara mentions that Torreira would be his replacement, so perhaps the two stories are connected.

So not an unimpeachable source but one that has been accurate for news concerning Napoli in this window, at least as far as a handful of their supporters on Reddit are concerned.

Napoli might also be selling Jorginho, so I'd assume that Torreira would replace whichever player is sold...

He's only started 3 league games not sure I'd describe him as one of their best players? They'd be essentially selling someone who could potentially be one of their best players early in their development wouldn't they.

I've not seen enough of him, would a Wanyama Diawara duo work? If not it's a lot of money to be spending on a backup DM when we already have Dier and much more vital squad needs right now.
