Aberdeen will hopefully be a good move for him if he can break into their team.

They started the season on fire and have since absolutely collapsed (sound familiar) to an extent even we’d be shocked at.

But when they’ve been on it they have played very similarly to how we would at our best. Thelin has been a breath of fresh air for them and had them playing some really incisive football playing out from the back which really outside of the old firm you don’t see often in Scotland.

Hopefully Dorrington can give them solidity in defence to get their season back on track because they’ve looked flimsy ever since Celtic beat them 6-0 in the league cup semi.

They don’t dominate games for 90 minutes so as much as Dorrington will have his bit to play in the buildup he’ll need to defend plenty - especially in games against the old firm. Can see this being a really positive loan for him if it works.

Sky said he had a few options but chose Aberdeen. Wonder who the other options were.

From the brief clips I've seen he looks talented on the ball but quite slight. As someone else said it's not the worst place to toughen up and learn to deal with some big lads. Good luck to him

Would be a big 2 fingers if he played, and played well.
Wasnt good enough to play for us against Rangers
He'd just returned from a long injury and I'm not even sure he'd played two U21 games by then.

It's not "a big 2 fingers" at all, what it is, is simply a good loan for a young player who needs game time in the adult game.

Why try and find a negative in what is a positive thing for a good young prospect?

You have either misread the wording or the intention because I was not in any way, shape, or form making this negative FOR HIM.
It is an extremely positive move FOR HIM.

My point was its 2 fingers towards THE CLUB if Aberdeen feel he is good enough and plays well against Rangers.
Seriously I don't get how you have taken what I wrote as a negative against the lad

I think Aberdeen (like us) have a few CBs injured and suspended. So he might get a chance daily quickly.

Rangers at home have been doing well, would have preferred it be at home for Aberdeen if he does start.

I think you are missing the point. If it's a good loan for Alfie, it's a good loan for the club, and you managed to spin it to something negative. How is it "2 fingers towards the club" if Aberdeen have the opportunity to give him time on the pitch against decent opposition, just because we couldn't (under completely different circumstances, btw)?

Why wouldn't that be great for him, us, and Aberdeen?

I didn't say it was a negative towards Dorrington but it was a negative statement.

I just don't see it as two fingers at anyone, it's just a good move for us, Aberdeen and Alfie.
