Both players should be pushing on this season, just like all the other sigining last season.....they had a taste of the prem, should now be settled in the aread/country and I would expect better things this season.

Lamela I think will have a good season ....he did show some nice touches and that one Europa game he was really fired up.....but with injuries and him openly saying he was struggling to settle,we never got to see what he can do.
You can't be that good and suddenly become that crap over night so ........eitherway no excuses really for him or any of the other signing this season.

The one that's looking more worrying is paulinho .....had a shocking world cup ( so did brazil really )....and on the back of a not so good season with us .....hes got to be a defeated man, thats questioning himself.
Hope it doesn't effect him and he does well .....but otherwise I can see him being sold.

Chadli can really kick on into the "Jay Rodriguez" for us. Lamela still a bit unknown but the raw skills are clearly there and if it clicks we are in for fun!

Getting Lamela playing to his potential is pooch's no 1 objective, imo.
We really got to hope that he starts to show that he is special, as I am not too optimistic that realistically there is anything else to really look forward to next season.

Agreed regarding Paulinho; not sure what to expect. Dembele as well.

Lets hope Poch can give him the longest break possible in the hope that he doesn't return as the player who cant run, cant pass, cant tackle and cant shoot that we have witnessed so far!

Agree. Will be interesting to see Poch's man-management of Paulinho and see if that has an effect.

Walker - will he improve as a defender?
Kabull - will he ever get "fit"?
Jan - last season's form or the season before?
Sandro - fit all/most season or not?
Dembele - can he stop being so erratic?
Townsend - will he live up to his potential?

...and many more pressing questions, not just Lamela...

Pauli might still figure if given a long rest to recharge. But I have been critical of Dembele's contribution much earlier than most here. In fact it was around January or no later than February last year that I said that all he did was to dribble and nothing else. Need to sell him for as much as we can get.

Basically, Dembele, Paulinho, Vertonghen, Soldado, Sandro, they all progressively got worse under AVB than they were before.
You can throw Adebeyor, Walker, Siggy etc in there too possibly.

Now he's been removed I'm hoping these players all start to rediscover the form that made us splurge out on them.
Adebeyor and walker imo stated to pick up quite quickly after AVB went.
The others, under dim Sherwood weren't given chances.

I'm not overly exited about Pochettino, but I have a sneaky suspicion he'll get more out of some of those players if they stay.
