Amazing interview. My bet is he had PTSD and should really of had counselling. He probably still needs it tbh as you have to systematically work your way through something like that.

Definitely see him in a new light and liked the way he was gracious about AVB.

Looks like he did a lot of growing up in 2013.

Time will tell. Because when he is focused he can truly play like a striker who could start for any club in the world.

But he has some kind of issue that puts managers off him after a season

Brilliant interview.
Hope he can really kick on and have a big season.
Maintain that not integrating Ade was Avb's biggest mistake

I can see why he and AVB clashed as AVB has a super strict mindset.

Maybe it actually takes someone like TS to get him going.

Main thing is he's back and effective now.

Like HR said (paraphrasing), 'he's the kind of player that's some days 9/10 and some days 4/10 but when he's 9/10 he'll win you games'.

Just gotta make sure we get as many 9/10s out of him as possible.

Have a totally different onion of him after watching this!

On his day he is unplayable and by the sounds of it we can look forward to plenty more of those type of performances from now on.
Go on Ade!

On his day i think he's as good as Drogba, but those days are few and far between. Hope he really kicks on and puts in the effort so we can truly see the ability that we know he's capable of.

He seems like a very proud man. It's easy to say all the right things, but I genuinely think he meant everything he said. He seems very positive about the year ahead, I hope he can finish the season well.

He came across well in the punditry he did for the World Cup in South Africa. But the majority of his most famous laziness and (sometimes violent) petulance was still ahead of him. It's easy to come across sincere and humble if you sincerely and humbly want to put across the best possible version of yourself on national teevee. I haven't watched the video because I don't like that uncertain feeling when someones pulling on your heartstrings but everything about their past behaviour tells you they're on the make. Probably he's very convincing. But I can't find any reason to bother trying to believe any wise / humble old Ade stuff till he actually shows he's learnt how to turn up when he's not feeling like it. Bah Humbug.

I know you've not watched it, but you'd have to be pretty cynical to doubt his sincerity when speaking about someone dying in his hands.
It was about as engaging an interview as you're ever likely to see with a footballer.

Oh I don't doubt his sincerity. I don't even doubt his intentions.

But I do insist that the 'best' of intentions, especially the dangerously close to solipsistic 'be a good person' and high octane 'Good vs Evil' genres, can coexist with behaviour that effectively doesn't give a shit.

I don't think he's Bad. I think he's somewhat unbalanced and lacks enough awareness to diffuse his self indulgences. It's just that there's a four year track record of that stuff I'm aware of, and I don't want to get hopeful that's all over on the basis of any interview, when I could wait to see if he stops stamping on people / wasting his talent on the pitch.

Fantastic and honest interview. Listen to him at about 16 mins on what affect booing from home fans has on some players.

He's always spoken very well

I remember when he was on tv for the (last?) World Cup he came across brilliantly.

I like Ade - he obviously has his problems but if he didn't he'd be we'll beyond our reach. Just hope he can keep his form up for as long as possible as on his day he is utterly unplayable.

He has been through a lot and because of that he has a very strong character. He looks like he doesn't take no nonsense from anyone, especially if it sounds unreasonable to him, which explains the hat incident with AVB. He will also do things or make decisions at the spur of the moment for the sake of his family or country because to him those things are important to him than even his career. Kinda explain some of the decisions he made which seems absurd to us at that time.

Although he may have his own reasons and motivation for his actions, those actions should at least follow what is expected of him by his employer. Whether he agrees with it or not.

No nonsense from anyone basically translates to him doing whatever the fuck he wants.

This is not something I necessarily ascribing to Ade here but this would be the mentality of a child. A young child at that. And a spoiled little shit to boot. His career is one which he gets paid a small fortune every week. There are responsibilities that go along with that.

Indeed, it's that career and the money he makes in it that allows him to do those very admirable things.

Lovely interview. There's no doubting his sincerity, and after watching that I like him more as a player and as a man. Honest, candid and very human responses to every question, and even gracious about AVB. And as @JollyHappy said above, home fans would do well to consider the effect booing has on the team's confidence/performance.
