Hmm that sounds like a point to prove. Go on then Ade, prove your doubters wrong.

Every quote from Adebayor is referring to his 'great summer'. It's the first time in a few years that he hasn't had an injury, a bereavement, a row with the Togo national football establishment or some other upset to deprive him of a settled, systematic pre-season training.

I know this is an ambitious concept for Adebayor, but if he can proceed calmly and methodically, without operatic distractions, between now and mid-August - and develop a good working relationship with Pochettino and his team - we might see the best of him again.

+1. I also like the comments by Townsend but the same could be said for most of the squad. If they come back to training with the same determination to prove they are better than they showed last season then that should bode well for this season. Ever the optimist me!

I have a good feeling about next season.

players wanting to prove a point after last season, though it wasn't such a nad season considering.

New Manager, with new ideas and players all starting from the same baseline.

our 7 amigos have settled.

lamela is back, happy days

With a couple of signings and a better organised team we should improve on last seasons points total. Whether that will be enough for a top four finish is debatable.

I'd like to think that we will be fitter, carry less injuries and the signings from last season begin to work better within the team.

With Poch's reputation for being prepared to use younger players it should create greater competition for places, which can only be good.

A few people are talking about Poch being confident with developing youth players. He also had a big success with Ricky Lambert getting him to play a slightly different style.

Hopefully he can work well with Adebayor and get the best from him.

I think I'm right in saying this will be the first proper preseason he's had with us. Should be a good season for him

And Ade might just go into a sulk....a leopard doesn't change his spots.

Possibly, but with the EL as well as carling cup (or whatever they are calling it this year) and the FA cup there will be plenty of games to go around without him throwing a major strop!

He'll roll up his socks and play seriously trying to get one last big contract.

Amazing. He has malaria. I guess Adebayor and summer just don't get along.
