OK so we've discussed this before but today's Sun says we're trying (and they often pick up on the smoke from a fire to be fair) and seeing as somebody else will anyway.......

If he was available for £25m in January and excepting the realities of wages (and some deal to fix that) would you ?

?

If he was willing to take a significant pay-cut, and Harry thinks he still has hunger, and that he can get him focused, then yes, it is a no-brainer.

Nope.

For that money we should get someone who is more consistently on his game.

But that is what a manager is for. Wenger got him focused - Mancini, won't or can't. Harry seems to have a brilliant understanding of the African player's psyche. Players of Adebayor's talent, who have been playing consistently well aren't available for under £30m.

I was OK with Galas I liked him even when he played for the Arses. Right now it's hard for me to believe that he used to play for those "other" teams.

Adebayor on the other hand hell F no, I am not OK with having primadonas in our team. And he seemed to be in the center of every brawl that Arsenal got ever involved in.

I don't want him at our club. Nothing to do with being ex arsenal, iv accepted Gallas. But the guy is trouble, and he moans when he isnt playing, he has a bad reputation in the dressing room, and is he even worth £25 million squid? no chance, in fact i'd pay nothing over 10 for the bloke. His best performance was in the South African world cup, and he wasnt even playing.

If he's the best available striker in January then sign him up.

So you would turn down Cristiano Ronaldo, Didier Drogba, or Ibrahimovic?
I am not saying that Adebayor is as good as them, just that good managers can accommodate egos in their team if they have the corresponding talent to back up that narcissism.

Van der Vaart £8 mil, Adebayor £25 mil.....................hmmmmm no thanks. I'm sure the scouts can find someone a little more consistent for £25 mil or less.
We are currently in a good position for players wanting out in January, as we have CL football still.

Get him focussed and playing as he can consistently, and he's as good or better than 95% of what's out there. I'm a yes. But maybe £20m tops.

Drogba is an incredible player with a high work rate for the team. Him yes, although he is very iconic for Chelsea and seeing him with us would feel strange. And I dont think he is a primadona.

Ronaldo is selfish, overated, a diver and primadona. So a definite NO.

Ibrahimovich is a primadona, a bit selfish too and very arrogant, looking for cheap fights. So he is a NO NO as well.

On his day he's a quality player and if he was consistent I think he'd genuinely be one of the world's best strikers. But he always finds a reason to whinge and that then effects his game.

We should only go for it if we are sure he can get his attitude under control.

I suspect it's a moo point anyway as City won't sell to us.

You do realise that the deal to bring in VdV was so cheap Spurs are under investigation by the Serious Fraud Office ;-)

Jokes aside, you just can not compare the 2 deals.

VDV was a total bargain - we won't get a deal like that again for a long time. I wouldn't turn down Ashley Young for £18M just because we only payed £1M for Lennon.

By the way is anyone else sceptical about the £25M fee? If it is £25M Wouldn't it be something like £10M set fee, then £5M if we win the league, £5M if we win the Champions League and £1M each year we qualify in a Champions League position.

I honestly think we could get Suarez cheaper, or possibly Dzeko for similar money. Both are more consistent. Although whoever Harry thinks is the right man i'm happy to go along with. We all know how important a top striker is, so i'm sure both Daniel Levy and Harry Redknapp know aswell. I expect them to pull out all the stops to bring someone in.

I'd take him if he agrees to cut his wages in half pretty much. Unplayable when is on form and exactly the type of striker we need.
