NO link with THFC, NO story about him being linked with THFC, wonder how much longer this thread will stay open?

I think he has suffered a lot of injury problems, looked really promising a few years back but injuries have prevented him from fulfilling that promise

Christ, who took the jam out your donut. You're a miserable git aren't you?

The player was linked previously, fact, and I was confident I'd seen a post of late but obviously not - so my apologies on that front. I've been on phone all day and it was hard enough simply creating a thread so I'm sorry for that lordship.

Thanks to the other replies regardless.

I was really excited about Hernandez a couple of years back, but I've completely lost track on him.

He's got a terrible scoring record. No thanks.

I don't care about scoring records at all. It is our midfielders job to create goals and provide good service for the strikers. All I care about, is his overall talent. Strengh, pace, positioning, and shooting abilities. That is what matters in the end.

Yeah well the simple rules of the game are, which ever team score more goals than the other it the winner....so yeah, I care about goals.

haha, you understand what I mean. People in general are so mainstream. That is what I am saying. Only think about scoring ratios. The main thing is to get the right player in, with the right attributes, who will fit into our style of play. If we sign a player who fits our creteria, the player will automatically score long term. This is how you are clever in the transfermarket.

He's had 5 assists since 08... so he doesn't really create that much.

I know. But SK wanted a player who creates goals, i.e makes assists, and Hernandez doesn't do that.

It is good if the striker can do that as well, but that job is mainly for the other players around. You need to sign players that have the raw talent, and if they have that, it is no problem with the scoring ratios in his previous clubs.
That is why I don't mind keeping Adebayor either, because I know he has the raw talent to score goals. It is the midfielders around him to feed him with good quality passes and crosses. He has the talent to score goals for us.

Assists only tells you the last guy who touched it, which often isn't the one who truly "created" the chance.

There are much better players on your scouting list than Hernandez, mate. I'm not keen on this one. He couldn't even force his way into a relegated Palermo side and has never fulfilled the potential he was billed with (Palermo are my 2nd team in Italy as my family are all Sicilian, I follow them closely).

Doesn't score enough goals, doesn't create enough goals. Not for me.

Raw talent is what every scouting team should be looking for, I totally agree there. Buy raw talent, refine it and you'll have a brilliant player for a small fee. We did it with Bale and to a lesser extent with Modric.

A agree that he is probably not the perfect target for us, but my point is the scoring ratio thing that everyone are talking about.

Fair enough, I agree that you shouldn't judge players on a scoring ratio. Drogba took 'til his mid 20s to really get going. However, I've seen Abel plenty of times and I know he's not fit for Spurs.
