I have noticed that he has been played on the left whenever he and David Bentley are played together and wandered how people felt he was playing in that position.

I remember Martin Jol got a few people asking "what are you doing?" when he played him on the left. I personally feel he looks a lot more comfortable on the left then he did under Jol.
With Bentley pretty much a guaranteed starter on the right do anybody think that Lennon can become a left winger or will he remain Bentley's backup?

I heard he was told he can talk gansta to 'Arry if he learns to play on the left. Might be a rumour though

I've said for some time he looks more comfortable on the left, to me he doesn't seem like a out and out winger who wants to get to the by line and cross, on the left he cuts in and runs at the defenders and you can see them start to panic.
Two good assists like that this season, Pav at Newcastle and Campbell the other night.

i remember a couple of seasons ago jol saying he could do a real good job cutting in from the left, he missed umpteen chances against watford though playing on the left. depends on the opposition i guess, start him on the left against a 'lesser' team or bring him on if bentley ain't performing! he's been impressive this season for us so deserves rightly to be in the starting line up or thereabouts

I like him a lot on the left. He also seems to create better crosses playing there, like the one for Fraizer wednesday, for Pav against Newcastle and for Hudd in CC final, to name a few.

I want him to start on the left, a part from difficult away games.

well i would still prefer an outright left winger so for me he aint going to cut it there in the long term.

His crossing is much better when he checks back, rather than trying to cross at pace. Obviously playing on the left forces him to do this more often than not, which isn't a bad thing. As for his overall form this season, I've been really happy with him. He seems to have got back to his old ways of actually using his pace to good effect - though he still falls over the ball sometimes.

I was all for Martin Jol playing him on the left. The short sighted fans crowed how he was much better on the right(at that time he was) but It was a matter of short term loss but overall long term gain.

It's simple, when Lennon broke into our team everyone could see the ability he had but he was 1 dimensional, and fairly easily marshalled. By putting him on the left wing this doubles his options and hence makes him a more dangerous proposition for opponents. It's exactly what Fergie did with Ronaldo too.

I think we'll see him employed on both wings and sometimes through the centre. As Lennon has really come into fruition this season I think you have to give some credit to Jol for doing this, and Ramos, who I believe worked on his defensive attributes which we have seen this season too.

People forget the fella is still very young, a lot of players are only just breaking into first teams at his age. He looks a far more complete player now than he was when he broke into the team and there is plenty more to come - and who better than 'Arry to really harness his talents.

I like him on the left. I think he can offer similar qualities to Messi (on a much lower level mind.) He's very quick with the ball at his feet, and by playing on the left he has more of the field to work in. He was becoming too predictable on the right because he rarely cut infield. He's also learning to play some clever balls by coming infield aswell. Its better for his devopment to be playing on the right at the moment.

For me he has been our player of the season so far. Every time he get's the ball on either flank he looks a threat. Though I am not in total agreement with the purchase of Bentley, the one good thing that has come out of that transfer is that Lennon has upped his game and looked like the player that he was in 05-06. Good on him and long may that continue!

Overall Lennon looks better under Harry than he ever did under Ramos, he actually has a touch and a decent delivery now!!!

Looks dangerous of late.

He's been looking quite good on the left!

Also put in a very good shift in his old faithful position down the right against Pool!

He has been better on the left because we have Bentley to balance it out really. When Jol played him on the left we relied heavily on his input and he wasn't as good as on the right.

He was just as good on the right the other night.

He's keeping the left side position warm for Arshavin, mark my words.

Lennon will be a 3rd choice to replace either Bentley or Arshavin during games or when rotation is in place as he can play comfortably on both flanks.

Lennon is ahead of Bentley for me at the moment. Choosing between Arshavin, Bentley and Lennon sounds brilliant though.

I think playing on the left could really force him to expand his game, anf be better for him the long run. Hopefully it could see him have to work on his delivery on both feet, much like Ashley Young has done at Villa.

He is playing well at the moment though... Definitely giving Arry selection problems
