People forget how brilliant Lennon can be on his day. Would rather keep Lennon than Townsend.
I don't want to lose Lennon; he is the one who gets to the byeline and cuts the ball back, better than anyone. Soldado would love that. Saying that, someone did it once yesterday and I can't remember whether it was Andros or Walker.

He seems to do it to anyone who doesn't follow his rules to the letter.
Ask the chavs ...

How do you this is the case with us? BAE has always been positive, just look at his Instagram and twitter. Ade also hasn't said anything, and he would throw his toys out of the pram immediately, as would have Gallas when he left.

Agree 100% that we can't let Lennon go. We still have to be a team that is capable of breaking fast on the counter, and with the team we put out yesterday, that simply doesn't happen.

I'm just going by the snippets about their behaviour on the Hong Kong tour.

I posted this in the ITK thread but worth repeating here. If we sell Lennon we will come to regret it IMO. Lennon is the type of player who you only notice what they bring when they're not there anymore. His pace is vital for stretching teams.

I feel Townsend's improvement is leading peopel to think we can just discard Lennon. Other teams defences are shit scared of Lennon and it often allows us more space infield. Lennon has competition now and we should use that to our advantage as it will require him to up his game.

For what it's worth, there have been some alleged sightings of Lennon in the Southampton area. Would be a very good signing for them.

Lennon cannot go. Ever since he arrived he has consistently been best attacking threat. He is considerably better tham Townsend at the moment and is also harder-working when tracking back. Personally, some combination of Lamela, Eriksen and Lennon would be very, very good.

Need him for speed and variation. All these wingers that cut in is just blocking our midfield. We need a few sideline huggers for a change up.

I don't know about the "best attacking threat", however he isn't a bad player at all. Lamela will be playing on the right and Lennon isn't good enough for the left. I don't think Lennon has enough goals or assists in him to really provide something to the team. Don't get me wrong, I think he's a better overall player than Townsend and works very hard but we need our front 3 players getting bags of goals and assists between them. Townsend, despite not being as developed or experienced as Lennon, will provide more of a goal/assist threat due to his much more aggressive nature and has a higher ceiling, IMO.

Depends how much is being offered for him really, especially when you consider the over-inflated price of English players nowadays.

For me it's about not letting too much quality go. You know what you get from Lennon. At the very least, you get a guy in that stretches the opposition, works hard, deliver some and very, very rarely looses possession.
Townsend is exciting, but only seem to have lungs for 60 minutes. Lamela for all his talent, is a 21-year-old who doesn't speak english. He wont hit the ground running.

Selling would be moronic, and if Townsend and Lamela should shine in such a way that Azza cant get a game, there's always the january window.

Althought his end product can be anything from brilliant to awful (you never know what's coming...), I think we really really need his speed. We should not sell Lennon.
