Midweek home games at the Lane were always on general sale. I still think personally after the initial excitement wears of at the new stadium we will struggle to fill it unless we're fighting for the title.

Tickets sold != attendance.

I realise that is what people think but the official site article I revered to stated Attendance 55,124, so why put it down as that and not tickets sold. Having already announced the attendance @ 46K.
I'm not disagreeing, I'm just trying to understand how the club can give 2 differing figures.

That's not what the figures are telling us, on tickets sold anyway, our average attendance is 66,000 odd.

Do West ham struggle on a Wednesday night against their relegation rivals?

Do man United and Newcastle get half empty stadiums for midweek PL games?

What are Arsenal attendances like in similar games?

All genuine questions I don't know the answers to.

Goons and West Ham list ‘sold tickets’ as being in attendance, even when not used. This is strange considering West Ham actually give a set amount of tickets away!
Their place has been half empty this season yet they report a capacity crowd. Small time mentality I guess.

Wembley is a **** of all ****s for midweek. I hate it. To cap off last nights journey back there wasn’t a single taxi in the taxi rank so I had to walk home from the station. Didn’t get in the front door until well gone midnight.

It was quiet last night. Got the sense that everybody there wanted it over and done with so they could get away!

It's in the club's best interest to massage the figures.

You have to remember for tax puposes the club has to have the attendance as tickets sold not how many turned up in their figures.

Wembley = soulless dump that's a shit to get home from, simple.

For the first time ever, I left before the end as my train line either had no trains after 22.46 or it was a bus replacement service after that time, depending on which app you looked at! Had to make sure we got it anyway. And of course, that meant I missed Son's goal.

I left at the final whistle and was home within the hour.

Sorry, but if everyone else can tell their story I will too

Yeah but you only live round the corner from Wembley ;)

I think the honest answer is "a week before xmas".

Honestly don't see why this bothers people so much, it's a temporary home and numbers are always going to fluctuate, I don't see the problem.

The club publish attendances on people there not tickets sold - the trust have confirmed this.

60k tickets were sold for the last CL game but only 43k turned up and the attendance was published as 43k.

The attendance was 55k.

There is a consistent policy, not a change game by game.

I was there and estimated at around 55k

Lots of factors last night.
1. 3rd home game in a week
2.Average/poor opposition
3. Bloody freezing and nightmare journey for lots.
4. Pretty sure was still holy day for Hanukkah and obviously Xmas round corner

Also Wembley publish exact attendance. Not like West Ham Arsenal who do tickets sold. As said would have been 55k. Were lots of factors last night. Considering 46k is passable. Also the average sort of 65k gate would be 70k with Arsenal figures. I think the biggest single factor was x3 games in a week.

Sorry, this is incorrect.

Tax paid (relief) is paid on the profit (loss) not tickets sold.

We could have 100k there paying nothing or one bloke there paying £4m for a ticket.

Tax man just interested in the financials.

Well ... I mean, I don't doubt that official attendance is actual head count. However, I'm sure the club must prove for auditing purposes a correlation between income and sold tickets. Otherwise, you could potentially launder some cash by selling 5.000 tickets to a friendly and saying that you had an income of 50 millions

So in the financials the club wont record how many tickets were sold and at what price? They just say we made £1m profit over the season, trust us on that?

Lots of empty seats last night that were not available when I bought our tickets.
Travel wise we took train from Reading to Paddington then tube, coming back we didn't get back into Reading until 1am!!
At least we got the 3 points :)
