Scum up first rather than away is a change from usual. Think I prefer that.
At least we know it will be on TV for us in the UKI wish we were playing on the Saturday. I may be old fashioned but I look forward to the opening Saturday of the season so much, it feels like an anticlimax waiting until Monday
When was the last time we had the home NLD first? Swear it's always Emirates around September then Tottenham Hotspur Stadium/WHL around April.
Edit: just seen the away derby is January. That's even weirder but at least it gets it over with.
We had that in the 21/22 season as well, but the Scum managed to get the game postponed, citing COVID-issues, when in reality only 1 player was actually infected. They just had a bunch of injuries. We were very injury hit as well, but on a good run at the time. When was the last time we had the home NLD first? Forgot about that. It just always felt like the away game was early and the home game late (around my birthday). Definitely seems be the Emirates first more often than not though. We had that in the 21/22 season as well, but the Scum managed to get the game postponed, citing COVID-issues, when in reality only 1 player was actually infected. Needless to say, we smashed them 3-0 when the game was finally played in May.
As in my post above it has always felt (to me) Emirates first and early then WHL much, much later.I think the last time was in 2020, when we played them in December.
But you're right. Last season we played at the Emirates in September. The season before we were at the Emirates in October. The season before that we were there in September again. And In 2019 we played at the Emirates in September.
I went all the way back to 1969 and then got bored, if the game is played on the 26th I believe this is the furthest we've ever travelled for a Boxing Day fixture. That's not too terrible, though Boxing Day away to Forest is a bit of a treck considering how many London/SE sides there are.
Actually think we have a really tough opening set of fixtures tbh.
Gonna need to be right on it from the get go.Agree. 4 of our first 7 matches are Newcastle away, Arsenal at home, Man U away, Brighton away.
We took 1 point from those 4 matches last season.
