Good chance to play some of the younger talents (Donley, Moore, Bergvall) in the group stages
Remember the final standings in the league phase determine your route in the knockout stage. The better you do, the easier path you'll have (on paper). It will have to be seen how many "throw away" matches we will have.

Just a bummer that Chelsea game in November happened the way it did.

Just a disaster to lose VdV, Romero and Maddison right at that point in the season, lose Bentancur again 2 games later and then with Son Biss and Sarr missing all January.

With the squad we decided to role with, we needed Arsenal’s injury luck and it just didn’t happen. We never got the mojo back.

sucks because Chelsea, Man Utd and Newcastle aren’t going to stink this much going forward.

but again, you tell me in August what our injury record is going to be and that we finish 5th and Arsenal don’t win anything and I probably bite your hand off.

let’s do some real work on the squad this summer and push on.

With a new (bit of an unknown quantity to me) manager at the start of the year i said to my uncle, a lifelong Spurs fan, that I’d take Europe (5/6th) and a cup run this year. Things were pretty shocking at the end of last year and I actually think this is pretty solid, all things considered and a lot of the credit goes to the signings and Ange.

The cup run element is my main disappointment. Our showing on those fronts has been nothing short of a letdown but otherwise, I’ll say this year has meant my expectations. Perhaps exceeded slightly with the fact our style of play, albeit a little inconsistent, has been transformed

5th is a good season. We could/should have had more but we've played awfully of late & we could see there are areas we need to massively improve. Truthfully, we probably aren't ready for a CL run.

Last season they said all those teams would be better, and they were worse. No one knows. If Arsenal get the injuries a lot of teams suffered they will be nowhere near. Arsenal had 7 players who started at least 35 out of 38, very similar to last season. They will be lucky to get away with that again.

Surely most are happy with us 5th and city winning the league, I know id feel sick if Arsenal won it and we got 4th, it wouldn’t make up for it for me and tbh I think EL suits us really nicely anyway, the only thing would be the extra money from the CL but we’ve qualified before and it’s not made a huge difference to our transfer windows tbh, I still expect us to significantly strengthen the squad hopefully this summer.

I’m dying to see us lifting the Europa League. Helps that the new format looks class. Fucking hell, I’m actually looking forward to our future.

Honestly, next season— I don’t really care where we finish, just go out and win the Europa. It covers all bases.

Yeah i’m aware of that but lesser sides have gone to most of those places and got something even a draw. We were 5th battling for 4th and nil points.
we were losing players week on week too.

Udogie
Then Davies
Then Bissouma
Then Werner
Then Richy
Then Lo Celso

The other teams were either strong or getting players back, bar Chelsea.

Win EL or FA Cup or even League Cup and top 4 and close points gap to top 2/3 would be a great season, any sodding trophy will do under ange to kick us forwards but ideally EL or Fa Cup.

3 aspects to it.

1. Build chemistry and get better at what we do.
2. Blood younger players.
3. Try to win it and use it as a launch pad.

I recognise that the first 2 probably contradict that but our best recent EL campaigns were when Poch blooded younger players.

The issue is we took games against Gent and Dortmund with a weak approach.

I'm hoping that we do enough to qualify in a decent position whilst doing the first 2 because you want to have the young players and chemistry looking great by February so that you can compete strongly on all fronts.

Hope Ange can get it right 🙏

We have 4 chances of a trophy next season, European football is back, two chances to qualify for the CL.

After the way the season started, its not what we had all hoped but we managed to scrape by in the end and get the next best thing.

Would love us to win the Europa league….you just know we would get Chelsea in the final though.

And I’d welcome it. European glory is our heritage, our DNA - not theirs or arsenal’s. Time to start putting things right.

Looks like I had us as chasing top 4 this season. Which we did. So as expected. Up and down season. But we can see what we are trying to do. We need to refine. But I think another preseason and a few new players. We will be better next season. Club feels more harmonious. And we enjoyed a lot of good football this season. Which we didn’t the season before. Lots of changes behind the scenes as well. We just have to have a little. Patience now.

Not that fussed about CL just yet - actually quite excited about Europa.

Good chance to play some of the younger talents (Donley, Moore, Bergvall) in the group stages and hopefully Ange sees it as a perfect opportunity to get a trophy which will massively help the project. We should be one of the favourites, especiialy with a good transfer window, so I think it'll be more interesting than getting pumped in the RO16 of the CL again.
I'd rather go all out and play to win, right from the off

Maybe the odd youngster, but don't fuck around and go out and try win something for once

with the euros this summer, and the ffp hanging over the epl, and esp if city gets punished finally...

city will be contenders again, but hoping for a huge points penalty, outside of top 4, cup runs
arsenal will not be as lucky as they were this season, top 4, cup runs
liverpool will be in transition, outside of top 4
villa will be caught by champs league romance, outside of top 4

us will have ffp leeway to back ange, top 4 n cup runs

chelsea, gelling and end of season form, top 4 n cup runs
magpies, no transfer wiggle room, but shd recover from injuries n no europe, contender for top 4
utd depends on managerial sitch, if they stick but have no transfer wiggle room, outside of top 4
spam, new manager who didnt do too badly at wolves but will lose players again, outside of top 4
palace, gelling and end of season form, contender for top 6/7
brighton, fell off a cliff due to european exertions, new manager, unknown factor

summary, my contenders for top 4 for next season will be us, arse, chelsea, city (if no penalty) and outside chance for newcastle, palace, liverpool
