I’m sure I’ll feel differently in a week or two when I’m missing the games but…

thank fuck that’s over with.

Nothing in our Europa League performances over the last few seasons or our domestic cup performances under Ange suggest we have much hope to me.
Our last Europa League game was three years and about five managers ago, and the only player who started in Zagreb that's still here is Ben Davies, but sure, it'll be a real cloud over us.

Would have taken 5th at the start of the season.

It feels a bit disappointing considering how well we started, and there's still a long way to go for both the squad and for Ange.

But think we take the season for what it has been and move on.

Need about 6 in and 6 out in the Summer. Let's see if we give Big Ange that support.
6in and 6 out would be ideal but we always seem to have a problem selling and end up doing loans which come back as no body takes up the options. I hope we can move some on because if we don't then Ange's budget will be a lot smaller than is needed.

I have to be honest, I don’t feel positive. I’m still really pissed off that after such a bright start and not having the distraction of Europe we managed to end it in the way we did. Like, it’s illogical for me that we got worse as the season wore on despite having so much time on the training ground and rest. The bare minimum for me was securing champions league football. If you take that start away, sure I wouldn’t have had the same expectation…. But I am also really annoyed with the dogshit performances we doled out in the latter half of the season.

Anyway, there is a glimmer of hope is that if the arse club could manage a title challenge alongside being in Europa League (2022/23) surely we can do one better and win that cup and get back into the champions league places next season.

Funny. When have we ever done well in it? Under any manager? I'll wait.

We did quite well when we won it in 1984, which has as much relevance to the chances of the current team as how we did when Redknapp played the kids or Poch threw games to focus on league challenges.

Am happy with that. Could have been better, could have been worse. Plenty to work on but considering we’ve had little or no form for 3 months then 5th is about right. Hope we give the europa a good go.

and of course the scum end up with nothing haha.

Why does it matter if we’ve done well in it in the past or not? We went through a period of (wrongly) thinking we were too good for it and not really bothering with it. I don’t think anyone feels that way about it anymore.

Think we need a big improvement next year. Outside of the purple patch at the beginning of the season it's been a pretty mediocre set of performances.
40 points from 28 games, 12 W, 4 D, 12 L. Only having 2 appropriate senior CBs in the squad didn't help matters for a couple of months there. Improvement needed next season from everyone, Chairman and transfer gurus on down.

We're ahead of schedule though. A srs tilt at top 4 was likely only thought probable this season coming by all but a very select few optimists last August.

Taking the season as a whole, we have achieved a better outcome (points and final position) than 4 of the last 10 seasons. Bearing in mind that includes all of the Poch era, it’s not too bad at all for the start of a new era. But we do need to improve next season. Onwards and upwards. And let’s win a fucking trophy shall we?

We have more chance of winning Europe League than CL and now can bring the Youth through in some of the group games; we need to use this as a springboard

Not that fussed about CL just yet - actually quite excited about Europa.

Good chance to play some of the younger talents (Donley, Moore, Bergvall) in the group stages and hopefully Ange sees it as a perfect opportunity to get a trophy which will massively help the project. We should be one of the favourites, especiialy with a good transfer window, so I think it'll be more interesting than getting pumped in the RO16 of the CL again.
