4th would have been a great achievement but I think we’d have struggled in the CL and I don’t think it would have been a real game changer in terms of signing or retaining players.

5th is decent progress, it’s probably what we deserve and Europa is around our level right now - at least it certainly isn’t beneath us, so let’s go win the damn thing.

Of course not but Palace were never a walkover on current form.
It's not for me to justify my position by the way I am simply laying out the facts of the matter. Which are inarguable.

I have a lot of sympathy for your position but irrespective of the views people held on Tuesday, the manager and the players did show up and it wasn't enough against City.

Overall a positive season, we see where the work needs to be done, let's hope for a great summer and step up again next season. Coys

Happy with a fifth-place finish and a return to European football for Ange’s first year in charge. Would definitely have taken that at the start of the season, especially with Kane leaving. Nice to go into the summer feeling optimistic for next season!

I expected Villa to lose today given how they've gone off the boil and how Palace have really been giving teams a pounding. Still surprised at the thrashing they got though.

We could've taken fourth but as others have pointed out, the midweek game wasn't what cost us fourth, it was results against Wolves, Everton and Fulham that did far more damage.

Yes because it’s a really important point to consider.
No it isn't ffs. If Villa had something to play for today they would've turned up and played for it. I didn't watch a second of their match but, while Palace have improved immeasurably under Glasner, Villa very obviously weren't that fussed about the result because they'd already got the job done. Maybe they'd have still lost today if we'd beaten City but then maybe we'd have lost today and it would all have been for nothing. It's all just pointless hypotheticals and not worth wasting energy over.

Sure. But let’s go for it. Would be an amazing one to win and we can win it.

Nothing in our Europa League performances over the last few seasons or our domestic cup performances under Ange suggest we have much hope to me.

I hope we take it seriously next year. Now that theres a conference league it makes europa league much better

Would have taken 5th at the start of the season.

It feels a bit disappointing considering how well we started, and there's still a long way to go for both the squad and for Ange.

But think we take the season for what it has been and move on.

Need about 6 in and 6 out in the Summer. Let's see if we give Big Ange that support.

Don't we say this every year?
