Shame really to miss out on CL as it was wide open this season.

In saying that I don't believe we're fully there yet so hopefully we get Europa.

I'm not sure there will be another winner of this league until Pep leaves City. They're too relentless
It’s strange as they’ve not really impressed me much this season. As much as it pains me to say it, the scum have looked way more impressive and in control of games, but City just seem to find a way (thank fuck!!!).

They're a machine and they also now have everyone (including their opposition) believing that they never lose a game in the run in. The commentary tonight basically said the league is done because how could little old West Ham (who live for blooding the nose of the big boys) possibly get even a draw!!?!?

I can admire what they do, but I can't see past the cheating, money laundering and buying of success - taints it all.

They're just a league-winning machine. Assuming they beat West Ham that will be 9 wins to end the season.

There's some chance of stopping them in cup competitions like Newcastle and Real Madrid did, but there's no team on the planet and few in history that could go the distance with them in a league campaign.

Yeah they’ve got an incredible team and coach and are run very well. But being impressed by what they have achieved is a bit like being impressed by how much nicer and bigger a billionaire’s mansion is compared to your own home. It’s like, I can appreciate the aesthetic value of this but we all know it’s about how much money you have. I could also have a nicer house if I had more money.

Or it’s a bit like playing monopoly with a much bigger starter bank than your fellow players.

It's more like the player can dip into the bank any time they want to - not so much a leg up, as them playing a different game!

What will be unnecessary will be if Palace beat Villa Sunday now and people start going ‘ahh I told ya so’… Emery probably got the sambuccas in soon as the penalty was awarded

Not sure that’s massively true. If villa finish on 71 points that’s enough to get 4th pretty much every season

So, if Chelsea and Newcastle get a draw or worse and we beat Sheffield then we're 5th?

If we're at the start of a journey then Europa league is a decent amount of growth for the first year. Given that we are also looking to shift a lot of players, we'd probably way too unsettled for the UCL and likely having our arses handed to us. I think Europa gives us a perfect place to grow and keep our squad playing and developing. UCL is a minimum for next season.

You think Newcastle are going to win their remaining two games while we lose to Sheffield Utd and turn around a 12 goals difference in the process?
They are +12 on us. Regardless I'd still be incredibly surprised if it happens.

I hope we secure 5th (we should easily but you never know with us). It's been a pretty disappointing end/second half of the season though.

But the point is we hardly ever turn up for the Europa League. So whilst I completely agree that in theory we have a better chance than in the Champions League, we tend to perform better or at least as well in the Champions League.

We have only made it as far as the Europa Quarters twice in the last twenty years. And we have had plenty attempts. We have been in the competition ten times since 2006/07.

Maybe next season will finally be the season we take it seriously but I wouldn’t bet on it.

What will be unnecessary will be if Palace beat Villa Sunday now and people start going ‘ahh I told ya so’… Emery probably got the sambuccas in soon as the penalty was awarded
Sounded like he did on the radio. Going mental at their awards dinner. But then again, we’re not interested in 4th, mate!
