On our Whatsapp Spurs Group we took about an hour debating back and fourth about some players and chopping and changing players in and out.

What is your favourite Spurs 2010-2020 team - first 11 and also who would you have as the 7 substitutes?

I had some arguments about Kane and Dawson they they arguably were 'Naughties' players but they could creep in depending on what you think of the recent defensive players? It is fair to say you can pick players who perhaps had a great form previously but perhaps not so much right now. We must remember sometimes that some of these players were exceptional in their prime days.

Anyway here is mine

Lloris
Rose - Walker - Vertonghen - Toby -
Modric - Bale - Son - Dembele -
VDV (I think this is an emotional choice and arguably should be Ericksen when he was not being silly)
Kane

Substitutes:
Subs - Crouch, Ericksen, Lennon, King, Keane, Friedel, Dele

Still debating:
Dawson, Huddlestone, Gomes, Cudicini

Over to you! #COYS

Just to add, I made a reference to Spurs v Inter Milan game that I was at back in 2010 and Huddlestone was the captain!!

That's a team that could win the league. Obviously, when they were at their peak for us.

Imagine if it was possible to bend space and time and we could make these sorts of things happen

Wanyama and Dembele in midfield together were borderline unstoppable at times.
Already had Eriksen and Van der Vaart on the bench and needed cover for wide players.
Soldado did absolutely fuck all in a Spurs shirt, which is what I assumed the point of this idea was. Crouch scored vital goals for us and offers an alternative play style to Kane.

Fair enough, still think Sandro was our best DM of the decade by far.

Figured the alternate text on Soldado would've indicated the sarcasm haha...

Tbf, I was initially leaning toward Sandro too, but the already proven Dembele-Wanyama partnership swung it for me.

And yeah, sorry, I missed the sarcasm.

Wasn't King pretty much crocked by 2010? For that reason.

Walker ............. King ............... Vertonghen ................Rose
Modric .......... Dembele
Bale ......... Eriksen ............ Son
Kane
I've gone for Jan over Toby as I think at his best, he's the better all-round defender. Eriksen has to be in the team, he's given us 5 years of terrific service and he is, overall, a better player than Rafa was, despite Rafa's better goalscoring record. That team would piss the league.

Could?

That team would win the league, even with City and Liverpool in it.

I keep forgetting how good Bale was/is

Shame on me!

Yeah, some of those teams would absolutely decimate the league.

Tbh, I think NDombele will end up in one of these top XI lists in the future

It would be interesting to see how Alli would fair in that team, in place of Son.

Supplied by modric, bale and eriksen he would probably score a hatful, with his movement
