Agree with Mourinho100%. Champions League is a cash cow but not something we're likely to win any time soon, whereas Europa League is within our capabilities. Winning this sort of stuff is what Mourinho's here for, so bring it on.

Yea he's spot on here. Now Man.City's ban has been upheld I suppose it depends on the FA cup if Europa goes down to 7th or 8th?
As City won the league cup that takes it down to 6th right?

It definitely can't go to 8th now. If the FA Cup winners finish in the Top 6, then 5th and 6th will go into the Europa Group Stage, and 7th will go into the 2nd Qualifying Round. If they don't, then they'll go into the Group Stage alongside 5th, and 6th will go into qualifying.

I thought for FA cup if the winners are already in europa or CL then it goes to the runner up whereas in the league cup if the winners are already in the europa or CL then it goes straight to an extra league position?

Europa is where Poch's team made their bones. I fully enjoyed seeing that team come together and grow in that competition.

That did used to be the rule, but it was changed several years ago

We need to make winning a trophy a priority because as I have long repeated on here, to be a successful club you actually have to win trophies.

The league will be between City and Liverpool again next year so we will be fighting with Chelsea, Man United and perhaps one or two others for the third and fourth CL spot. Why not set out to win the Europa and one of the two cups with top four as a bonus?

I know the money people might have it the other way around, but in football terms what is more realistic for Spurs in 2020-21?

Poch's downfall is that he never won a trophy when one or two were there to be won. If Mourinho is going to be successful here over the long haul he will build it on a foundation of success in the League Cup and Europe.

We haven't won the League Cup since 2008, the FA Cup since 1991, a European trophy since 1984 and the league since 1961. This is no where near good enough for a club of our size and standing.

If Wolves or man it'd finish out of the top 4 and win the Europa league, doesn't it go down to 8th?

With Mourinho in charge I will actually really enjoy watching us in Europa league as I know for a fact he would take it 100% seriously. And let’s face it. It’s the third biggest trophy out there so let’s try and win it!

Europa gives more games
to keep the squad involved,
even perhaps some fringe players
like Skipp and Sess, Cirkin
or whoever.
All for it.
Me and Billy Nick
obviously.

I am in favour of Europa qualification if we use the squad better.

In the past I believe more rotation of the squad has resulted in us not competing fully in all competitions meaning we do well in each but achieve in none.

This is an area Jose appears to excel in.
