    Conor Gallagher

I just really struggle to see a Chelsea fan and one of their choices for captain leaving mid-season (or at all) for their most hated rival. I can believe Chelsea might want to sell him and that we might want to buy him, but unless he's not playing and has no other options I can't see him...

Absolute squeaker of a game, but well done those Lions for winning a play-off game for the first time since 1891. I suspect that's as far as the run will go this year though.

    The ousting of Daniel (COYS)

I am sure I heard Ange himself say that he wasn't the club's first choice - and I don't believe Ange would lie. I also don't think the 'lucky Levy' idea is entirely without merit considering the omnishambles of managers he has appointed in the past. We've had some good ones, especially when...

    Team vs Wolves

I'd like to see Phillips get a start, but with just a few days to Wolves I could also see it being sensible to wait for the international break to prepare him better, then again with Romero out it's a chance to give him game time on his preferred side (which I'm assuming is the right) and...

    Manager Watch: Ange Postecoglou

This is true, but we're 11 games into implementing an attacking style after 4 years of defense first football, which doesn't apply to Liverpool. Changing the way we play for this game could easily have done more harm than good. Maybe if it happens again after 4 years of Ange then yes, you might...

I don’t like the result. I hate Chelsea. But this is a team to be proud of.

I thought France were really unlucky there, two of those first half SA tries depend on a fortunate bounce of the ball, and they dominated territory for most of the game. But SA fought hard, played smart and squeaked it. It seems like we're looking at another SA vs NZ final, which I can't say...

I'm hoping for a France v Ireland final, as I was from the start - if both get through their QFs then I think that's what we'll get. I supect England might bore Fiji to sleep and win that way, but I think Fiji struggle to get themselves up for the smaller opponents (as seen against Portugal)...

I’ve never really paid much attention to him previously but I’m coming round to your way of thinking here (stopped clocks and all that). It looks to me as though the Argentina squad is better than they’re being coached to play. It’s looking like England will face Fiji in the QFs - that might be...

I think what Wales and England have shown so far is that warm-up games are just warm-up games. Though I would say that in beating Fiji and Australia Wales have proved that a little more than England. It looks like Wales vs Argentina, England vs Fiji, Ireland vs New Zealand and France vs South...

Bonus points are going to decide the finishing order in Pool C I reckon. I’d be happy to see Eddie Jones go home early.

I thought Uruguay were really impressive with their heart, their running lines in attack and their shape in defence. I wouldn’t read much into a disjointed France performance with such a heavily rotated XV.

    Manager Watch: Ange Postecoglou

It's a discussion that's been had, done to death, wrung out, hung out to dry, set on fire and the ashes buried in the garden. I agree though, on the basic principle that if a manager gets a team to a final they should be allowed to manage that final.

I did wonder if we might appeal for a special World Cup amnesty - though I know he’d say his ban was deserved.
