I’d be interested to know why you think Son may only have one more season as a starter. Have you seen something in his play that indicates that or is it primarily based on the fact that he’ll likely lose his pace as he’s getting older? (Genuine question btw, as you seem to watch a lot more...
The problem is the ‘clear and obvious error’ bar that they use. With incidents such as this, if the referee gives the penalty, VAR won’t overrule, and if the ref doesn’t give a pen, there’s no way VAR would give a pen. So it all comes down to the referees initial decision, making VAR redundant...
Where I struggle is when people say that we need to commit to him and back him in the summer, that we shouldn’t keep changing managers, that we should have more patience, and even use Arteta and Klopp as examples.
The problem with that perspective is that, from what I’ve read on here, we...
I’m not surprised that Chelsea remain a quality team. I am surprised that Conte, as a top class manager, appears to have learnt nothing from last seasons games against Chelsea!
Seems similar to the Salah handball against us in the league, and I don’t recall anyone but Spurs fans being remotely concerned about that ‘contentious’ decision!
Is it not possible that the new boss has had a good look at Sanchez and/or Dier in training, pre-season and the first few games and likes what he sees? It also seems likely that he agrees with the fans on Winks.
It’s hard to disagree with the premise that, in an ideal world, all of the transfer business is complete early in the window. The problem is that we’re only one-side of the equation and in transfer business it takes ‘two to tango’.
As far as I’ve read the only offer we’ve received to date is...
The worst thing is we could all see it coming. It felt like Groundhog Day watching that second half just waiting for us to concede. I just don’t get what Mourinho is watching to not try to do something different in these situations, it’s happened too many times! I’m not one to get too emotional...
I’m absolutely gutted, both with the missed chances and the penalty decision, but if anyone wasn’t watching the game and expecting that kick in the teeth, given how dominant we’d been, then I suggest you’ve not been a Spurs fan very long! ?
I think the point Bobbins is making is that the term tax avoidance refers to any number of schemes legally designed to avoid paying tax, which include areas which people wouldn’t normally consider to be tax avoidance, including for example, salary sacrifice into a pension or investing into an...
I wouldn’t bother mate, they’re too busy throwing their toys out the pram and smearing shit on the walls because they’ve not got the shiny new toy they were promised! Having that said it’s very entertaining ?
Although these are examples from just one game, the stand-out for me in comparison to the Spurs maps are the positioning of Fabinho and Salah.
With Fabinho playing deeper the triangle formed between goalkeeper, centre backs, fullbacks and central midfielder looks more solid.
At the other end...
Not that I’m looking to continue this discussion, but I’ve seen this assertion a number of times on this site and it’s quite clearly incorrect.
When a bookie prices up an event, e.g. Spurs v Man City, it’s based on statistical analysis. The bookies have models that analyse a significant amount...
I don’t often criticise Poch but it was clearly the wrong decision to start Kane. I couldn’t believe it when I saw the line up. He’s a fantastic player but it always takes him a while to start firing after injury.
I suppose this somewhat depends on whether he signs a new contract. I would love him to stay but if he’s going to leave for free in 12 months are we better to replace this summer?
I generally agree that money is the most significant factor but it’s obviously not the only factor. If you think that, by offering the same or more money, players will choose us over the likes of Barca, Real, Man City, etc. you’re dreaming.
I think the problem today was the lack of composure in front of goal in the first half. We had a few excellent chances and should have been in front at the break, which would made the second half easier to manage.
