That doesn’t address my point though. If he’s brilliant on the pitch, do we care whether he’s a miserable shit in training? Isn’t that part of what we pay our coaches to deal with?
My point is that this is unenforceable under English laws. There is always a recourse to the courts. Not to CAS, though, but English law applies to everyone, always. In England , anyway.
The PL is basically a club, with rules that it can insist its members abide by, but ultimately laws still apply to it. Clubs can always appeal to the courts if they feel that the PL is acting wrongly. It’s a longstanding principle in English law that you cannot sign away your basic rights.
It's a strong line up, shouldn't look out of place against Brazil. I've got money on 3 or more goals being scored, and need Foden and/or Slabhead to score.
His basic technique is very good, and he’s an intelligent player, but to shine he needs more space and time than the Prem usually allows. Late in a game, against tired legs, is ideal for him. Especially if the opposition is chasing the game.
His biggest asset is his strength. Like the Moose, he almost dribbles through players, rather than round them. And he enjoys nicking the ball, so defenders never get a chance to rest.
When he's on the pitch these days he's usually one of our more progressive passers. He clearly buys into Ange's ideas. If we're going to move him on, we need to be bloody sure it'll be an actual upgrade.
