    Match Threads Newcastle vs Spurs

Dear oh dear. That really was bad and honestly lucky to get away with it 'just' being 4-0.. We are nowhere near as aggressive when it comes to putting pressure on the ball as we were in the first few months of the season and think this is a major problem in this system. It starts from the top...

    Match Threads Newcastle vs Spurs

We also haven't put enough pressure on the ball in midfield when out of possession. Get outworked there then we really are going to exposed badly.

    Match Threads Newcastle vs Spurs

Does feel as though if we have a couple of players who are not on there game in this system/style of play, we can be brutally exposed. Throw in errors and it can get very messy. Newcastle just look faster and stronger all over the pitch and think the disappointing thing for me is we seem to be...

So poor defensively. Not sure what is going on with VDV's slipping but sometimes feels like we take his one on one defending for granted and end up taking too many unnecessary risks further up the pitch and exposing him to often. We look so vulnerable as a defensive unit at the moment.

Was on Liverpool's radar but midfield was their priority last summer so didnt make a move.

The Daily ITK Discussion Thread - 31st January

Gibbs-White would be the first one that comes to mind from Forest however wonder if Murillo could be one we potentially look at. They bought him for £12m-13m I believe so could make a decent profit on him if they were forced to sell. Young left sided CB with a year in the league. Looks quite...

The weaknesses he sometimes shown are things that usually get ironed out with more experience/maturity so at 21 not worried at all. He has been a tremendous signing and his potential is huge.

    Manager Watch: Ange Postecoglou

He has done a great job. On course for a CL position and getting 70+ points in his first season. He's had to deal with.... - Losing a world class striker and our best player ahead of the season - Was left woefully short at CB for half the season and had to deal with both CB's being out at the...

    Manager Watch: Ange Postecoglou

This season was always going to be work in progress. New manager, a number of new players in the starting 11....was never going to be straight forward. Ange will have learnt a lot so far and think he'll be quite single minded in what we need this summer, specifically the profile of player he...

Match Threads West Ham vs Spurs

Generally felt like we ran out of ideas when we approached the final third and there was no real conviction in what we were doing. Almost as though just hoping something would come off for us. Feels like teams work on nullifying our full backs and know our wide forwards are more 'off the ball'...

Player Watch Player Watch: Dejan Kulusevski

Agree. Think we have some crucial decisions to make this summer when it comes to our forwards. Personally think if we do decide to make Werner's move permanent, we should look to move Solomon on as well as Gil and free up space for two forward players with real quality. That plus Johnson and...

Player Watch Player Watch: Giovani Lo Celso

Very small sample size to go by but in the limited time they have been on the pitch together, feel like Lo Celso and Bentancur play well together and link up well.

Done very well when he came on. Looking more confident and impacting games. Should be starting ahead of Kulusevski now.

Player Watch Player Watch: Dejan Kulusevski

Not a wide player in this system. The lack of pace/direct running coupled with him more often than not looking to shift the ball onto his left foot is making him predictable and manageable.

Player Watch Player Watch: Dejan Kulusevski

He is a good player but like so many of our forwards isn't the type to take the game by the scruff of the neck and look to directly influence it. Kulusevski, Johnson, Werner, Richarlison...all are capable of putting in good performances but not sure they can consistently perform to a high level...

    Match Threads Fulham vs Spurs

Said it before, have no real confidence that any of our forward players outside Son (and even he isnt getting any younger)have the ability to produce the goods week in week out. They have ability but you wouldn't hang your hat on them turning up every week.

    Match Threads Fulham vs Spurs

Midfield is such a key area in our system. If it doesn't turn up or just gets outworked, we are likely to get exposed quite badly. Bissouma was very good at the beginning of the season but do wonder if he is one who is able to maintain a high standard throughout the season or someone who has...

    Match Threads Spurs vs Palace

Said this before we have some good forward players but think if the oppo are organised and disciplined, more often than not most of them can be contained and managed out the game.

Player Watch Player Watch: Manor Solomon

Find it difficult to form too much of a strong opinion of Solomon as he just hasn't played enough for us tbh. From what I have seen of him, he has something about him although not too sure its enough to he a regular starter. Seem to have thay initial burst of pace and can run/dribble and turn...

Player Watch Player Watch: Ryan Sessegnon

Looking at his stats at Fulham: - 16/17 season was 16 years of age in his first season with them and was involved in 25 games with 8 of those of the bench in the Championship. - 17/18 season was involved in 46 games with 1 appearance off the bench and they were promoted to the EPL. - 18/19...
