Thoughts?
Rumours that he might be coming as a player, but I wonder if this is nearer the truth.
- Close to AVB
- Knows the English game
- Known for being intelligent
- Now 34 and only played 8 games for RM last season
- No other obvious candidate (Pereira and Di Matteo otherwise disposed)
Who do we give the job to then?
Inglethorpe
Hoddle
Gallas and vdV
Jordan
Pleat
Venables
McCarthy
All is lost. Who might give us a shot at the impossible? Who can win the dressing room and motivate our players? Who can save our spurs?
Bar one or two highlights (vdV, Sandro, Parker and Ade), our transfer strategy has pretty much gone out the window this past 4 years. We have an excellent first 11 (only 10 of whom we own), Sandro and King and that's pretty much it in terms of players who can perform at the level we need them...
So next season our CBs are Kaboul, Vertonghen, Dawson, Caulker + one.
Levy says he'll only pay the wages of one of King or Gallas. Which one do we keep?
King is the soul of the team (in the sense that Modric's the heartbeat and vdV's the brain). Our tailsman club captain. 3 years...
Or is it a Johnny Depp doesn't count kind of thing?
The guy has it all - charm, looks, money, a wife you wouldn't kick out of a threesome...
Seriously though - workrate, goalscoring, winning mentality, intelligence, creativity - he's got the works.
A classic Tottenham player of the...
I've got my black and white stripped shirt and tie combo ready for tomorrow. How will you be showing your support for our newly adopted second side?
Could be a proper CPR job for us if they pull it off.

(Of course the irony would be if they won and it helped them to push us into...
10 points and we fucked it up... It's heartbreaking.
I can't believe the madness. We're imperious all season using variations of 4-5-1. Then suddenly, that old kneejerk that he can't quite kill off returns to haunt us, and the whole season falls apart within 3 weeks.
Modric in the...
EPL players on the 50-man short-list:
Rooney
Hernandez
Aguero
Silva
van Persie
van der Vaart
Suarez
Surprised there's no Modric or Bale (due to the profile of the Inter match), but well done Rafa
Was that what him and Bassong were up to at the end - it looked like they were immitating swishing trunks around?
If so, would it would be a very clever of him, just like the Klinsmann dive.
So, with the positive injury news about vdV, tomorrow could see the inauguration of our new strikeforce.
I'm really excited about this - I think it has all the components to be our next Greaves-Gilzean, Archibald-Crooks, Klinsmann-Sheringham, Berbatov-Keane.
Last season we were desperate...
So with no first-team transfers happening this summer, what are we going to do up top for Everton next weekend (and probably beyond)?
With 4 duff forwards who are well beyond redemption, do with either chuck Coulibaly or Kane in, bring Krancjar in into a novel two #10s setup, or try and see...
Ron Perlman has already passed the big 4-0. I was just wondering if he's officially the oldest player we've ever had?
My only other thoughts were:
- Hoddle signed Dave Beasant, who may have been in his early 40s at that point.
- We signed a whole squad of nobodies from the lower...
I for one will be quite saddened to see the chief architect (along with Levy) of our 00s revival sat in the wrong directors' box tomorrow.
I understand why he had to go, but it's gutting that he's now steering our rivals up past us, while we're still punishing ourselves by trying to make do...
Failures:
Boogers, Abou, Kitson, Baros, Benjani, Nugent, Utaka, Lua Lua, Douala, Radacoiu, Futre, Suker, Ian Wright, Andy Cole, Crouch, Defoe, Keane
Successes:
Hartson, Di Canio, Kanoute, Kanu
Looking back at his past clubs he seems to have a major failing in this department, even...
Disgraceful league performance this season, disguised by our cup run.
6 points from 10 games against the bottom 5.
5 whole windows without making a serious effort to replace Berbatov.
Inexcusable persistance with an ineffective 4-4-2 that doesn't suit any of our important players...
Such an disaster to play 4-4-2 this season
- Two useless lumps of deadwood up front instead of one.
- vdV leavered into a position he's ineffective in, and at the expense of one our biggest threats Lennon
- Outnumbered in midfield
- Two players stood with their hands on their hips...
West Ham agree to release Scott Parker, Carlton Cole, Robert Green and Matthew Upson when they go down: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13302945.stm
That's a whole spine of players he wants available now:
-----------Green
Corluka Upson Dawson BAE
Lennon Parker Sandro...
Blimey - full house tonight.
IMO tonight is the strongest side we've put out in a good 15 years.
First time Lennon, Hudd, Modric, Bale and VDV have all been fit together and we've had our first choice back 5 (King and Woodgate aside) available.

Looks like Dear Leader may be starting to make some moves. Villas-Boas should have a good reference from Levy's pal Jose too:

In January 2004 we part-exchanged Zamora for Defoe (and paid West Ham £6m).
After watching the performance and goals from Bobby Zamora today I'm starting now to think we've now got the wrong player. While Defoe is exactly the same player we bought 7 years ago, Zamora has really matured and...
