Funnily enough, people were questioning Lo Celso's desire just 2 months ago (Bayern game springs to mind) and we had comments like "he simply isn't a Jose player" and "will go the way of Mata under Jose", even at the start of January people were saying he was too ponderous and would never adapt...
Jose has suggested he likes 1 attacking FB and 1 defensive FB, who stays back to make a CB 3, so he is perfect to play the opposite side to either Aurier or Sessgnon. He might not be so comfortable at RB if Aurier was injured and Davies fit LB though.
Griffiths scored more than he had played for the U18s (I think across all seasons it was something like 38 goals in 37 games) and apparently Etete has 5 goals in 10 this season.
The worry for me is he is he has played fuck all U23 games. We really need to find Tracey a new club, Play Richards...
I would go with:
Tanganga - Sanchez - Toby - Sessegnon
Fernandes ----- Lo Celso
Dele ------- Lamela -------- Son
Gazza, Aurier, Cirkin, Dier, Ndombele, Lucas, Parrott
I want Sess to get another opportunity to learn at LB and want to see what Skipp can do in a 3 man CM. Also...
They said "Reminds me of Bale when we could never win when he was in the team" which was in his second season (when he was 19, same as Sess is now). That season, Bale got 0 goals and 3 assists in all comps, in 2000 mins of which 24 were starts. Sessegnon in comparison, has 1 goal and 1 assist so...
Yeah, he was always extra careful in bringing injured players back into the team..........like when Kane damaged his ankle ligaments in January last year and he started the first game he was available in late Feb (no time coming on as a sub, just a straight start) then 6 games later he damaged...
IMO, It's time to see what Sess, Skipp and Parrott can do.
Aurier Sanchez ---Toby Sessegnon
Fernandes -- Skipp --Lo Celso
Lamela ------- Parrott ------- Son
Subs: Vorm, Tanganga, Dier, Winks, Eriksen, Dele, Lucas
