Player Watch Player watch: Son Heung-min

Really reminded me of Giggs today when he scored that goal. Amazing. What a player he is. If we can build a solid defence and midfield, our attacking players are as good as anybody.

    Player Watch Player Watch...Dele Alli

Its partly that obviously, but I think it's no coincidence that he is playing in his natural position and more importantly we are getting the ball forward quickly again. Both goals came from long balls which bypassed the midfield. He is an instinctive player, he knows when to run and where to...

    Player Watch Player Watch...Dele Alli

Just look at his record compared to the best goalscoring midfielders in the prem era. He is up there with the best. Yes he is a very instinctive player and yes not everything he does comes off, but it doesn't have to! He only needs to get it right, in the right areas, a couple of times per game...

    Jose's Team?

I have never been a fan, but, he is a winner as we all know. People point to utd as a sign of failure, but what have they done since? It is a poor squad with average players that would have done just as poorly under any manager. With jose there are a number of things you can take for granted...

    Club Statement - Pochettino leaves

It had to happen. He had very clearly lost his way.

Poch: In or Out? - You CAN change your vote

Just look at the players. They have regressed. Son, sissoko, toby and verts have been our best performers this year. The rest have gone backwards. Kane has been a shadow of himself since he returned from injury the first time. Poch has done so much for us, but his time is up.

    Time to drop the 4-2-3-1?

We need more numbers to press. We have got 3 players pressing 5 or sometimes 6. The 2 holding players are completely redundant as are the full backs. Its beyond ridiculous and poch has got to take responsibility for not being able to see it. If we cant defend then we need to press the ball...

    Time to drop the 4-2-3-1?

I personally don't like it. It is an overly defensive formation that sacrifices a player in the attacking area. Look at Sheffield utd, and many other teams, they had extra players in the forward area and strangled us. We couldn't play out. Yet they played out easily because we had fewer players...

They've been vastly superior to us and deserve the goal.

Our full backs just do not know where they should be at all. Either tucked in too far or dragged out too wide. No common sense at all.

I agree DM. They clearly haven't been ready to start. If they had, I think that we may well have started the season a bit better.

That's a decent team. I would have liked Lamela over dele but that is good enough. Lo celso is rightly in ahead of eriksen too. I think this is the 'difficult' evolution that poch was referring to in the summer. It's hard to change such an established team, particularly with new players who...

Match Ratings Ratings vs Crvena Zvezda

I agree and that is my worry. However, so much is based on confidence and we have clearly been lacking both collectively and individually. We need an identity and our new players were a big part of that, unfortunately they haven't been able to bed in. We often criticise poch for refusing to...

Ndombele was very good. Lo celso was also good. Little shout for Dier as well, decent performance. Foyth also very good at right back. Nice cameo from sessegnon, I'd forgotten how well he moves. Lovely balance. Overall happy, few sloppy moments but we need to build on it. Play that team again...

Match Threads Everton vs Spurs - Match Thread

I just dont understand. Lo celso must be able to do 45 minutes? Just to add something to our currently very stale and predictable play? I could manage 45 minutes if I trained with them every day and I'm 45 years old! We need an injection of something into our team, not the same old slow...

Player Watch Player Watch: Erik Lamela

Lamela is not perfect and has weaknesses eg goals, gives the ball away etc but he more than makes up for them imo. He always works hard, that is a given, but it is infectious. The amount of times he has come on and turned a performance around simply by getting the crowd and players going...

Absolutely. No matter the situation, winning, losing, playing well or badly, he gives 100% every single match and never hides. Big fan.

Agreed. I love the way that n'dombele can play a first time ball. He waits for it to come into him and then suddenly picks a pass and gets on his bike to have it back. But it is high risk stuff and this has been one of our issues. With no real defensive midfield player and the backline...
