    Race for The Top 4

I agree LCFC are likely out of reach, however, they have some very tricky games to come. I actually think they will drop a couple of points at Villa then after a home banker vs Norwich they have City and Liverpool. If (and still a giant if we can get our sh*t together) we could be 7-9 points off...

    Team vs West Ham

Totally agree. When you consider that Lloris, Jan, Ndombele and Lamela won't make it for Saturday yet, we can still make an 11 against WHU that does not include perhaps Eriksen, Lucas, Lo Celso, Sessegnon, you appreciate what an embarrassment of riches in terms of talent that we have in the...

    Manager watch: Jose Mourinho

I appreciate that some of us are emotionally vulnerable right now, and, yes it was just an interview, but bloody heck - he doesn't half get you buzzing! He is a winner and if you were a player right now you'd be utterly buzzing. Yes the squad is not perfect, but my word, there would have been...

    Manager watch: Jose Mourinho

Really? My in-laws are all Arsenal, and they are utterly gutted about Jose. To be honest, had I woken to the news yesterday that Emery had been replaced by Mourinho I would have been very concerned indeed. As with lots of the press, I sense there was an almost condescending admiration of Spurs...

    Manager watch: Jose Mourinho

I totally respect those who are skeptical but, I genuinely believe a refreshed Jose will galvanize this highly talented but incredibly underperforming squad. Long live the king.

Just to add: In 09/10 - we finished 4th in 10/11 - we finished 5th, 6 points below Arsenal in 4th In 11/12 - we finished 4th but CFC won the CL to knock us out In 12/13 - we finished 5th but missed out on CL by 1 point (well actually 2 if you consider goal difference) In 13/14 - we finished 6th...

    Race for The Top 4

Me too - it is an awful feeling. just can't believe that with the quality we have that we won't utterly spank a team soon. As mentioned earlier in the thread, I couldn't see our collapse from January...the Lord giveth and taketh...

    Race for The Top 4

Agreed - it is perfectly plausible. It is also possible that a win takes us into the top half (actually level with Sheff Utd on 5th - as we are the early kick-off). Don't get me wrong - we are awful at the moment but the table is still close up to top4 at the moment. Win the next two and things...

    The Mauricio Pochettino thread

I am sure that DL would not want it to be perceived that he is anything other than supportive of Poch. Firstly, not to publically undermine the current manager and also perhaps we are still hoping that another team will come in and take him off our hands (before he has to fire him). Also, since...

    Race for The Top 4

Indeed. Funny though as I recall calming people down here last year in March when they were concerned we would drop out of the top4 - I said our form would have to nosedive so dramatically to be a problem... we had been playing badly but had never anticipated how desperate it became. In...

    The Mauricio Pochettino thread

I suspect that the decision to fire Poch has been taken but they are struggling to decide on whom to replace him with. I also think that there is probably a very large queue of managers who would be desperate for the job. The issue for Levy, however, is that there is no obvious candidate that...

Against, allegedly what the scouting team advised.

    The Mauricio Pochettino thread

It is more than formations and individual players - as a collective, they look totally out of sorts. Either they are not listening to Poch and poorly coached, or the players are simply not good enough to deliver what is being asked. Poch mentioned that we are in 'transition' and to be fair there...

    The Mauricio Pochettino thread

The team are totally bereft of belief and style. Poor mentality week in, week out. Levy needs to act now that the top 4 is done. Give a new manager a transfer window and time to adjust and prepare for next season.

    Team v Red Star (A)

Gazza Foyth, Toby, Sanchez, Davies Dier, Sissoko Dele, GLC, Son Kane Surely a game for Dier - his experience and cool head will be essential.

Disagree (respectfully). I can't think of more than half a dozen sides that a top manager would want to take over right now. Premier league is a giant pull in itself but if you consider the talent in the squad atm (regardless of its shortcomings) the stadium and facilities - we are a huge...

    The Mauricio Pochettino thread

Agreed. I would have actually accepted a battling defeat had we shown some balls and discernable style. We looked like relegation fodder just making up numbers and trying to fluke a result. We got away with it against City, somehow - and even to an extent, Arsenal.

    The Mauricio Pochettino thread

I agree we can get back on track - perhaps to edge top6...but to make up the points already chucked away to genuinely challenge for CL qualification would require an unprecedented turnaround in fortunes and a reliance on a shocking drop in form from LCFC and CFC. Regardless of our opinions, it...
