Thing is at us since Poch its rare that a player comes in as a backup and ends up actually better than the player they replace or supposed to be the successor of. We think it’s the case and brainwash ourselves into thinking so. Eg Trippier better than Walker, Bissouma better than Bentancur...
The worrying thing it doesn’t look like a project in play it looks like players shirking the physical battle and work rate to compete with lesser teams. I understand If the tactics don’t work but this seems like the players just aren’t up for it. And when that happens there is little way back.
It’s a shame as he really thought he could be the best CM in the league. Looks like a shadow of the player that used to boss us around every time we played Brighton
Sandro had great potential he was not by any means an average player. he was a DM large and athletic enough; with decent enough footballing ability to make it for a top 4 team. Remember him in CM against Milan he was unreal! His only problem was he wasn’t first choice under Redknapp his boy...
He’s a squad player unless he’s playing as a pure 9. Good finishing instincts but his all round game is lacking. Against big teams his ability to be a part of the play, build up, pass and create not crossing chances severely limits him. It will be like playing with 10 men.
A lot of non pacy players retire at that age. That he’s kept that fit is a testament to him. Also there are no speed restrictions in football, walker is as better and more reliable than trippier. Just because his pace made him better let’s not do him down because of it.
This is why we need to take racism with more seriousness at spurs and why we shouldn’t have appealed the ban.

I see your point. But it sort of reminds me of the “we sing what we want” chants that I was very uncomfortable with. I can see the humour but I also don’t think we should make light of racism and people need to understand why what he said was wrong.
I just think he lacks technique and touch to be reliable enough. Also always looks to get involved in a physical battle then go to the ball. Another player who believes his own hype and thinks he’s better than he is.
would you trust him to finish a chance in a tough game against our rivals to...
Agree nor the greatest player or the top player compared to people he’s deputised for. But a lot of others can learn from his attitude. Did extremely well when Rose went injured
