Loved the fight we showed. I don’t think either card was malicious, nor the one Bentacur escaped. They were fully committed, determined and a split second too late.
It was quite a feisty game whilst in the balance, we prevailed, I really hope we can build on this.
His outside of the foot ball to put Werner clear on goal was sublime, considering the pressure all around him.
Kane plays that ball and pundits are wetting themselves.
I like him, I think he will come good, I think he already has in a way.
Thought Brennan timed his run well, could easily have crept offside and perfect finish from a perfect pass, very pleased for him.
Also Djed, sometimes you just have to want it more, great determination.
The Positives:
- We aggressively pressed as a team and won the ball back well
- We fashioned a lot of half chances
- Solanke took up some good positions/linked up well
- Bergvall/Gray got good game time and look great prospects
- Excellent stop from Vicario on Goblins 2nd shot
The Negatives:
-...
You are correct sir
What is a Home-Grown Player?
A "Home-Grown Player" means a player who, irrespective of nationality or age, has been registered with any club affiliated to The Football Association or the Football Association of Wales for a period, continuous or not, of three entire seasons...
He qualifies as U21, until 28/11/25.
As he joined Burnley on the 12/08/23, he wont have played in England for 3 years before 21st birthday, so wont be classed as HG long term.
The squad clearly needs to some long term management on that front.
Oh my, we are entering the absolute sweet spot of the window.
Transfer gods, make your rumours extravagant beyond my dreams, then drag me out deep into the sea of disappointment and despair, break me
We are continuing to raise the squad bar, if we get to the point where Kulu is deemed dispensable (there always has to be a fall guy right?), then we are in a very good place.
I really like him, but he does need to up his game.
I share peoples caution, his highlight reels show some stunningly bad keeping.
That said, his movement and the positions he takes up in the box both look top notch.
Outside of Sonny, we really lack those qualities.
Rival fans are moaning that the stadium depreciation costs are not factored into the PSR calculation (modern football eh?!).
Very few clubs would be able to afford a new stadium (and build a team) if they were. Last year Land & buildings depreciation alone was £45m.
This is him in an nutshell.
He is an absolute force, but when things go wrong (especially in important games) he gets quite nasty and in this case personal.
Own the defeat and move on.
I think frustration (and to a point his personal circumstances) got the better of him.
Frustration at the apparent ceiling of the squad (compared to previous jobs) and also a ceiling on the clubs commitment to spend. Both should have been understood prior to taking the job.
I also think his...
I’m genuinely intrigued how good he could become.
I thought he was very good tonight, his care with his weight of passing has massively improved.
I love watching him play, he’s unlike any other player.
