I think it comes from a few things:
They haven't really watched him
Came from "lowly" Bournemouth
Didn't succeed at a Liverpool/Chelsea when he was young
Not a blockbuster/fancy foreign signing so the reputation was considered low
All someone had to do was watch his highlights for the last...
there was that one moment where he completely skinned his man in the second half (and then put the ball in between his teammates) where I was shocked and impressed, haven't seen one of our wingers completely skin someone like that in forever.
I feel like a lot of spurs fans are being gaslit by the media and rival fans into thinking what we are doing is unsustainable or won't bring success. We are super early into our project still, we need to see how it unfolds.
