    Manager Watch: Ange Postecoglou

With the amount of running they need to do, we have to be able to at least rotate our full backs but we can't really with Udogie. I think it's quite a glaring hole for us. The team is a bit weird as there doesn't seem to be obvious partnerships emerging (son and udogie, johnson and porro...

As a squad, we really need better cover at lb and lcb.

    No impact from Son whatsoever

There was a point in the second half where Son was lining up to take a corner. Maddison came over and there was some exchange where they swapped. Son seemed to walk off forlornly.

    Manager Watch: Ange Postecoglou

I feel for the hand postecoglou has been dealt. It’s just poor succession planning to lose players of son and kanes quality so near to each other and have no suitable replacements. Son has dropped off, it’s clear. That would be hard for any manager to deal with.

Maybe this is a position in the summer where we should be looking like other big clubs do for a proper competition or upgrade

the sympathy I have for Ange is that although we sold Kane and got the money for him, the departure has also coincided with Son becoming at least a bit less effective. That's quite a lot of goal contributions to have to deal with

    Mauricio Pochettino

He gets to manage as the host nation in 2026 so it’s quite a pivotal job for US soccer but I still think he should have waited for the next big Prem or Italian job

Well just signing for tottenham is putting him in that same new environment. IT hasn't put us off signing teenage or young prospects from europe previously. (or other clubs)

He'll have to learn english eventually anyway (and he must have had this all pre-season anyway) so I'm not sure this is a good reason..! It may just be that no clubs at the top of the championship wanted to offer him required game time

    Player Watch: Djed Spence

He'll get games too. We won't have to play Porro in the Europa if we can play Spence there etc. So it really is up to him and his ability/attitude going forward.

But adding to this, there doesn't appear to be rave reviews either. The accounts of him at Genoa were solid when playing but not exactly sparkling like Udogie at Udinese the season before.
