Seems swaps might become the in-thing and a potential FFP-PSR loophole. Agree the difference to be paid and then inflate the fees on both sides as much as realistically possible. I'd be down for doing a deal involving the four players WLB mentioned. Both very talented players that would suit...

    The England Thread

Pundits really fail to grasp this. Look at all the players in recent tournaments that do the business for their country but don't always replicate it at club level. There is no rule that means you have to pick your most talented XI. Some players - looking at you Foden - really struggle to...

    Manager Watch: Ange Postecoglou

Ange said he would have moulded the team around Kane had he stayed. Which is what a good manager does with a player of that quality. The current England setup is totally busted. The midfield's refusal to back up the press was a far bigger issue than Kane ambling around. Looking forward to...

    The England Thread

He's a genius, and it's spot on. The system is absolutely broken. Trying to pin the blame on individuals is a fools errand. Southgate is the problem and he needs to figure it out. That left side is criminal and should be a sackable offence. As Liew says here we're refusing to use 30% of the...

    Eberechi Eze

At least with the way Southgate is botching this Euros there's no concerns of Eze's price going through the roof, or bigger fish circling! Hard for anyone to look good in this current England side.

    Pedro Neto

To be clear, whilst I have the same concerns over his injury record as many others in here, I still think he's one of the best signings we can make this season. Proper X factor player, the kind that can make the difference in top 6 clashes. Can see why Ange would love to sign him. If we were...

    Pedro Neto

Unlike Manchester City, we can't cherry pick the very best players on the market. We have to compromise. So it's either taking a chance on Neto's injury record if we want proven quality or trusting our scouting setup by unearthing some gems from Europa/EC level clubs on the continent.

    Pedro Neto

Different scenario. Those are all relatively minor injuries compared to some that Neto had and it is also something that can be quite common with 18-21 year olds as they are still growing.

    Pedro Neto

I don't think that's a fair comparison. Injury wise it's a massive risk, but his quality and work rate are unquestionable and any manager would be happy to inherit him I'm sure. If he didn't have his injury issues he's probably be at an elite club already, probably Man City.

If Mendes is involved it A) won't stay under the radar and B) will likely end up with him wearing a Liverpool shirt

    Eberechi Eze

Really hope we can get this one done. Feels feasible as long as we are willing to stump up the cash. Having to move quickly makes sense. Right now it seems to just be Utd we're up against, but later in the window bigger fish could start wanting him.

The Daily ITK Discussion Thread - 31st May

What I think is particularly exciting is that Lange was able to pull off some particularly ambitious deals at Villa, and we know Paratici is good for a clever transfer or two if he's still consulting. Aside from Eze and Vanderson/Gray we have no real solid links. Interested to see what the...

Those sort of funds Exciting times if so. Another strong window like last year, where we add genuine quality that affects the first team picture, and I think Ange's football will go to another level. The funds should definitely be there to do it. This is what we were building towards with...

    Eberechi Eze

In FFP/P&S terms it would make no difference to paying over instalments. Would just be a matter of securing the funds one way or another. Likely explains that follow up tweet from POK.

    Eberechi Eze

I know having to pay up front is not usually our MO but here it's worth it. On an open market Eze likely goes for more. Surely Levy can come up with some kind of financing for it using his contacts. Would be such a good player for us. Can play so many roles and be MotM in any of them.

    Eberechi Eze

Such a class player. We'd love him here. I'm sure Madders is putting in some good words.

    Manager Watch: Ange Postecoglou

This is it in a nutshell. Anyone trying to tie this in to anything bigger than it is is on a fools errand IMHO. It was a freak circumstance and is not indicative of any bigger picture. Trying to tie this in to 'small club mentality/lack of winning mentality' is just confirmation bias towards...

    Manager Watch: Ange Postecoglou

Still fully behind Ange and believe he will make us a force if properly backed, but I must admit I'm frustrated at his comments tonight. It just feels so lazy and obvious to go back to the 'Spurs lack a winning mentality' well when we've just found ourselves in a nearly unprecedented situation...

    Manager Watch: Ange Postecoglou

That's because we are throwing a load of stuff at a wall in the hope that some sticks and have been for some time. A Rice/VVD type signing only happens when a manager knows exactly what they need and have most other positions under control.

    Manager Watch: Ange Postecoglou

100%. The time for tweaks and small details is 18-24 months in. Right now there is no real value in short-term gains if they don't feed into the main philosophy. It was never going to be plain sailing. We've done the reactive/pragmatic thing and mostly hated it. Currently, ten Hag is in...
