I find it funny that no matter what forum you visit, including our own, every fan base feels like they're the victims of poor officiating. A lot of lillywhite coloured glasses on when we've had decisions go (rightly) against us.

It is because the standard of refereeing and officiating on VAR is absolutely terrible in this league.

I have to say, I understand Dyche has been working on an extremely tight budget for quite some time but, their style of play is terrible and as a fan I would be embarrassed to watch them, never mind claim they were 'superb'. I would love to know how many times they pumped the ball up to their strikers last night, I remember saying to my brother every time they did it that their style was a joke, and I said that a lot!

We got drawn into that far too often by doing the same and I was becoming frustrated, but to watch that every week must be a tough gig. I don't say this too often but I genuinely hope they go down, there is no place in the Premier League for that style of football.

It does baffle me when the referee stands over the player on the floor who has blood pouring out his head, does he not think, hmm maybe a yellow for the other player should be given here. Accidental or not, don't think anyone could complain at a yellow.

I think it was a definite yellow, but we can’t be going down the road of judging the severity of the foul by the damage it causes. People have their legs broken by innocuous challenges and get straight up after disgraceful tackles.

Equally, and I’m not sure how it gets dealt with but it does need addressing, Barnes uses his arms for more than just leverage when jumping. He quite clearly uses his arms in a way, much like Shearer and Kevin Davies used to, that says to his marker ‘you can go for this header but you risk losing an eye’. It doesn’t look deliberate, but I think it is, and did with those players too. There’sa difference between trying to get as much momentum as you can by using your arms, and pointing your elbows out like you’re imitating Mick Jagger’s strut.

I know what you mean, but not sure you can address it really. There’s a fine line between leading with the forearm and using your arms for leverage and if you try to get rid of that line you’ll have a silly handball scenario where players can’t naturally jump properly

I agree I think he knows what he’s doing, but his eyes were always on the ball and there was no drawing back of the arm etc.

It’s a difficult one.

Would solve the situation if Burnley just fucked off back to the lower leagues and stayed there. We live in hope.

I’m not sure what surprises me more: the fact Burnley have fans or that they have internet in Burnley? OR that they have fans AND know how to use the internet.

Mind blown.

Need Burnley to win or we drop in to the bottom half of the table.

Sp**s have a fun team. Kane, Son, Moura is not my type of player but he’s direct and quick, then you got Ndombele who’s a baller.
Bale, Le Celso etc.

That probably should be a red for Barnes there tbf.
Just gone in directly with the elbow.

Sounds like something he'd do. He's a dickhead.

Matt Doherty looks like a vampire.

£14.95 for Brighton vs West Brom is looking like incredible value compared to this

So all close to 1-0 for Burnley against the title contenders

The stupid **** scores

Kane son again

but they clinical f**king ***"s.

Not another season below these please

F*cking Burnley. Watching 80 minutes of this sh*te for them to crumble at the end.

Have no hopes of a Burnley comeback unlike westham

Why am I praying for Chris f*cking Wood to score to save my weekend?
Can’t actually be bothered with this.

3 away wins from these **""s but only 2 points at home. wierd side they had only 9 shots 3 on targets today.

title contenders you know

This year is the best chance any bum team is ever going to get to win the league.

Great win for Sp**s. Not many teams will go away to Burnley and beat them.
Arteta will go there, park the bus and still collect an L.

Some decent comments on Tanguy tbf...

Ndombele is a joy to watch, proper baller.
Remember them guys? Ballers?

I have to admit, his improvement has been remarkable. I have to applaud Mourinho's work with their record signing. Spent a lot of time with him individually, tactically and conditioning - its paying off. Not that I am the type to praise Sp**s but I did also notice that - he came in for a lot of ridicule last season and they've tried to work on it. With willingness from the player himself of course.

Not sure it's Mourinho's work. He seems to slowly go back to the level he had at Lyon. Last season he seemed horribly mismanaged and not bothered. I was really jealous he went to Spuds after wishlisting him all summer. Good for him he's getting better again, but quite bad for us.

My favourite quote from their thread was a response to this line.

It was something along the lines of 'so you mean we've still got a chance ourselves, great' :D

There is nothing wrong in pumping the ball up to the strikers. Wood and Barnes make it difficult for the centre halfs and the midfield joins in - it was difficult to play against last night and its up to other teams to come with an answer and largely teams don't that's why they have been around for so long.

It might not be super to watch but they survive on a fraction of the budget other teams do and they have earned the right to play how they want and they play to their strengths. A goal is a goal no matter how many passes you put together you don't get points for style - watching them last last night I do wonder how Wimbledon or Watford in 80's would fair in todays football

Some prime cuts from Blue Moon

it’s that man Son again, why can’t we find somebody like him?

How much would we need to get Kane and Son in a City shirt?
10 goals for Son already this season.
No hope that anybody at City is the race for the Golden Boot this season (LOL)

A city player could do exactly what Son has done over the past 6 weeks in the next 6 weeks.
Suuurrrre

Spurs are wank!
And people think we’ve got problems....

Yeah despite currently winning tonight.. they have been garbage. The league would have to be absolutely terrible in terms of title challengers for them to even have the most remote chance of winning it.

I think spurs will win the league
most people laid into that comment, however a few seemed to give it due consideration...

I’m with @worsleyweb I think spurs have a good squad Jose seems to be rejuvenated and if Bale gets fit that’s a frightening front 3.
Surely they can't win a title with Eric Dier playing centre half?

Agree with the front 3, On their day they can be unplayable.

Lamela is a sly twat. That was naughty.

Kane is ridiculously good. 8 assists in 6 games. He can beat KDB/Henry’s record if he avoids a serious injury. Big if with him but the record is already in sight.

i'm not getting the Spurs wank fest. We win our game in hand, we are level on points. And reading a few threads here, I concluded we are sinking without a trace

Spurs are awesome all of a sudden apart from throwing a 3 goal lead away at home 2 weeks ago...

"Disagree" is not a neg rep. They didn't do a VAR check.
Out of interest, how do you know this? I thought the majority of VAR checks went on in the background. I thought VAR would have reviewed the decision made by Oliver (after all he gave a foul), but decided no clear and obvious error had been made, i.e. possible red card offence that required Oliver to take a 2nd look on the monitor at. Play was stopped for at least 3 mins. I thought fans only know about it if they don't have time to review it (as play goes on).

Is that not what happens in this situations?
