Yes it is.

Actually the fact he spent so long here makes the way he left even more despicable. He never gave any indication whatsoever for years that he wanted to leave, we offered him more money than what he’s currently on at Inter Milan then when it came to his last 18 months, his agent went AWOL and refused to engage in talks with the club. He did an exclusive interview with a big newspaper in Denmark 4 days after we lost the biggest game in the club’s history saying he was leaving. He bent us over a barrel and made us sell him quickly and cheaply when we could’ve easily gotten close to £80m for him when he was in his prime.

I’m not expecting you to agree, your username is evidence of that, but if you think Eriksen was an angel in the way he left and should be welcomed back by us to save his career, you’re unbelievably blinkered.

He was entitled to run it down. He wanted a change from Spurs and I don't blame him for that. He gave us some great service for a long time.

I don't want to see him back at our club as a player. For some reason he seems unable to produce any decent form at all no matter which team he plays for, but to insult him and call him a prick is a bit overboard. And as a reminder, he wasn't the only Spurs player who failed to produce the goods in the CL final.

I guess this comes down to whether Jose thinks Eriksen can be useful in a CM3, can he play there?

I'm not confident. He's not exactly forceful in the tackle. Was great at 10 but I'd prefer someone more of a physical grafter in the middle of the park.

Anyway, as far as I can see he is starting/playing for Inter recently so I hope it works out for him there. Certainly don't feel any ill will towards him. Was a great player for us.

We don’t need CE back - we need cover for Holberg and at least one more experienced CB to replace an aging Toby
Can't see us buying cover for PEH. The hope is Skipp will play that role once he returns from his loan. Jose thinks he's made for it in both his skillset and leadership qualities.

Eriksen was my first Spurs jersey. He was my favorite player for years. It was sad watching how it all ended up, but I loved watching him play.

Plus, I got to see him score an absolutely worldy in person at the only match I've ever attended live, so I will always, ALWAYS consider him a club legend in my heart,

I was there! What a night that was. First time seeing Spurs live, I was at their training the day before and got pics with most of the team that were there (Son wasn't). Eriksen was complaining about the heat, I spoke with some of Poch's staff & video analysts to get a better idea of the man. I have pics with Onomah, CCV & KWP as well. Vic never trained as his whole leg was wrapped up and physios were with him the whole session. Of all the team, the one I never got a pic with was Poch. Realized how tall Hugo is in person. Toby actually injured his knee in that training session so everyone who was there was worried. He managed to play in that PSG game next day and scored a belter as well.

We've already got a stats player who can't get in the team right now.. because we finally have a manager that sees beyond numbers.

He'd need to show more than he did in those last 2 years of the 7 for me to want him back.

Dele?

I think that's because Eriksen is no longer here. No one to service him. You're seeing that with Kane now as well, dropping deeper and doing things differently.

I think we can all agree that in his pomp Christian was special. I think him and the whole team were physically and mentally wiped out by the end of Poch's days. Do I want him back. No. It's best for all.
As to a young playmaker I would not be against Brooks but do not see it as an urgency.
Whilst not a true number 10, I would hope we are keeping an eye on Dominik Szoboszlai as he is going to be very special.

Not interested in this. Doesn’t fit Jose’s system, he’d be on big wages and clearly we’re not the place he really wants to be.

I don’t hold his move against him, and if he was playing at his 2017 level when he left I would be tempted. But he’s been putting in mixed performances at best for about 2 years.

has he really been that bad there? when you see how the likes of ashley young and lukaku have done you'd have thought eriksen would have no problem but i guess not. he has been playing 50+ game seasons for 10 years straight now though as he broke through very early at 17 so that's a lot of mileage, seems he just peaked earlier than typical rather than him "downing tools" like a lot of fans thought when his form started to decline.
