This is a message for you all for your own sanity - I haven't been on it since the end of the game, but I would strongly advise you not to go on the Kumb website for the next 25 years, because that's how long they are going to be dining out on this result for and that's as an absolute minimum.......

The initial situation with Aurier was in fairly safe territory. The subsequent free kick was pedestrian. The follo-up on the deflection was horrendous, and there was a very good shot and some dumb luck that ended in a goal. Was it Aurier's fault that Lanzini had a once-in-a-season finish? What else is Aurier at fault for would he have prevented Covid and Brexit if he just took the notes from Spurscommunity?
Lanzini hasn't scored, I read, since May last year.
Ain't it always the way.
I take it as a compliment.
Saving himself for us.

I really just don't fully understand how a team like that with a manager like Mourinho can't hold on to a 3-0 lead.
It wasn't Aurier's fucking fault.

Completely agree with this. There were so many factors in our collapse that you just can't blame a single person. We failed as a team not because of an individual.

Lloris - Could have done better with the equaliser
Sanchez - Was shaky for a lot of the game
Aurier - Should have just cleared it when he had a chance
Winks - Could maybe have done better for the equaliser and never looked comfortable at DM
Sissoko - Poor for the first goal all round
Bale - Could have scored and didn't contribute defensively
Kane - Got greedy second half (Was still world class though)
Lucas - Lost his man for the own goal
Jose - Terrible subs and in game management
Team - Dropped off at 3-0 and panicked at 3-1
Ref - Never a free kick and missed the foul on Bale and possibly Winks.

One thing that is constantly being overlooked on here (surprise surprise) is that West Ham actually played really well, they've been playing well since lockdown last year:

They actually looked decent yesterday and did well to put us under pressure to come back into the match.

This is going to be a feature this season I think mid table teams getting points off top teams, I think they have closed the gap on the top teams considerably.

They played well but at 82 minutes 3-0 up no matter how good the other team is, it's shambolic to concede 3 goals with the quality we have in our squad.

I have watched the painful replay..

I have quietly defended Sissoko for the longest time.
For being such a tall player, Sissoko jumped like a kid. I dare say many in sc can put up a better challenge than him.

That was the crucial first goal that shouldnt even materialise. And we know all the rest.

Jose getting alot of unnecessary flak regarding his substitutions imo....how many on here really thought bringing on bale, winks and moura was wrong at the actual time?
We were 3_0 up ffs with time running out.... hindsight is wonderful but let's stop blaming Jose for sissoko not jumping,Sanchez og,and a worldie
We are all gutted and mistakes were made, but Jose did little wrong imo, bale scores and all is good.
We are generally poor at the back, whoever plays imo,and that will be the reason we don't sustain any title challenge....top four I believe is very achievable despite are defence.....
Rodon will be a regular very soon, and will sink or swim.....but from what I've seen I think he will be a huge success...

Tottenham Hotspur have recorded three of the past five cases of a home team leading a top-flight game by at least three goals at half-time yet failing to win: against Everton in April 1992, Manchester United in September 2001 and West Ham United yesterday. West Ham avoided defeat despite trailing by three goals for 66 minutes — no other team has done so in the top flight since 1980.
For the record Im as pissed as anyone on here but i am looking to move on-quickly.

This is not normal times-stats are out of the window as far as Im concerned. The matches are a little more than friendlies with an edge and a result that matters. They are not a high octane conceptive games as when a crowd's in place. We look tired yesterday but I can't excuse what happened. These sort of results make for a better team development-if we really want it enough to be the best we will learn form this. 4 points against- Utd away and WHU at home, I would take it.

On reflection a valuable lesson has been learnt from playing basketball last week in training. Next time we play at home maybe we play in our own fake fan noise shouting "Defence....Defence....Defence".

Yep, Jose can't be faulted because if you're 3 up with 8 minutes to go you should have enough to see the game out regardless of what changes are made. You dont expect Sissoko to not even jump for a set piece, you don't expect Sanchez to put the ball in his own goal or expect that goal from Lanzini. And you certainly don't expect that to all happen in 8 minutes.

Every one was clamouring for Bale to come on and I said to my dad that it would be the icing in the cake if he scores, a West Ham comeback was the last thing on my mind. I'm sure Jose was thinking similar. Unfortunately some players dropped and panicked. That's not on the coach, it's a mentality problem. Even then that was a freak result.

If the game had have been tighter, say 1-0, you could argue that the changes would have had to be more pragmatic but Jose probably felt we just needed a little more energy in the front line with Bale and Lucas making us dangerous on the counter. In fact, Bale scores that goal and we aren't even talking about this anymore.

I did not lose any sleep over this result at all, not even alittle bit. I am still knobbed off by it but in the end it was one of those results wasnt it, we did it against Arsenal, Villa and actually Ajax. There were mistakes made, some players were deffo abit shit, West Ham deserved the draw in the end. Move on.

They deserved the draw? No fucking way. We should of had 5 or 6.

Just because they huffed and puffed doesn't mean they produced the quality football we did.

We were far superior in terms of creating quality chances.

But sometimes the best team doesn't win...that's football.

But they didn't deserve it.

This game woke me up middle of the night, it was worse than the freddie kruger nightmares i used to get as a kid.

I mean, its just a game, played by a bunch of multi millionaires, it shouldnt be having this sort of effect. I thought i forgot about this game quite quickly aswell, obviously not.

Same here fucked off to bed with a raging hump at 9pm - couldn't sleep - brain turmoil until 12 dropped off for 30mins. Still awake at 4am then crashed for 3 hrs.

The horror.

All the above arises from the team not trusting our back four, players are not stupid, they know when they are playing with a weakness...hence we concede and go to pot....
It nearly happend away to them last year and home to Bournemouth the very next game....
I was honestly nervous yesterday at three nil, there was something not right, I suppose it's all in my mind, but my wife turned to me at three nil and asked why the fuck I looked so nervous....at full time I turned to her and said ...that's fucking why
Don't remember being so angry over a result... serious mental anger.
Didn't see their third...I was hiding in the fucking garden....that's what I've become...hiding in the garden ffs

lol the irony of our fans calling our own side legends, the mentality of some of them is actually hilarious.

There was also the 3-4 v Man City in the 4th round of the FA Cup back in 2004 (Against 10 men with Barton red carded just before half time)

Been there before, LC semi finals against Arsenal in 86/87 and the Cov FA Cup 87 as well, games we threw away with stupidity.

A reflection of the clubs mentality and why anytime our club is mentioned regarding winning anything it is met with such derision absolute joke.
