You’re right that although our changes didn’t help, they hardly meant we would concede 3 - it was a freak.

I also don’t buy the argument that by taking Ndombele off we lost control in midfield. I don’t think we really controlled the game before. It was a tight affair where we had the edge in chances but through clinical finishing ended up with a convincing lead. Don’t forget how they missed an open goal.

I haven’t seen the xG but I bet it says something to the effect of 2-1 or 1-1. As a team and manager that’s what you can control. There were some unusual goals in this game, including two long rangers and an own goal.
I think the 3-0 scoreline wasn't really indicative of pure dominance on our part. It was more the result of Kane and Son being fucking incredible players and us scoring from our first 3 attempts. West Ham actually played pretty well throughout, even in that first half, and on another day we're only 1-0 up at half time and it's a tightly fought contest.

I do think that Ndombele provides something essential to our midfield, though. He's practically impossible to dispossess so when he's on the pitch we always have an outball in the middle of the pitch. Lo Celso is actually very similar in that respect, and the sooner we get those 2 on the pitch together the better.

But does it not occured to you that a poor Toby or Dier could be attributed to having a Sanchez playing beside them?
Watch how many times Sanchez had to bail Toby out coming from the left. Unfortunately it was a one man defence Toby looked washed up and we gave away silly fouls. People cried out for a DM but we're still conceding poor goals.

But I get It though.. Sanchez had poor moments especially the own goal so it's not the time to speak up for him.

Current showings - Lamela starts if fit !!!!

I have no time for Sissoko as a starter. GLC and Lamela should both start ahead of him.
Dier starts over Sanchez
Doherty starts ahead of Aurier (who has improved recently tbh, but still gives away cheap free kicks)

All three not top 4 quality for 90 minutes, always a mistake in there.

Moura and Bergwijn both attacking depth. not starts again

Most bizarre sub for me, was bringing on Moura just as we were starting to wobble. We needed an extra CM at that point, even to go with the extra CB, or even Harry deeper with Bale up top, def not the luxury of a wide forward.
That was very un Jose. Shut the game down and get it won.
The problem is we do not have any midfielders or CB on the bench then. Probably Davis to slot in a LCB.

Normally I can leave results behind pretty quickly but have to say I’m struggling with this one still fucking fuming.

I've just been sat in the same spot since the end of the game. Didn't think I'd have another Sunday ruined in the same manner as the Newcastle in such a short space of time. Fuck sake. The thought of having to work tomorrow pisses me off more than usual now.

Whoever scouted Sanchez, Moura and Bergwijn needs their P45. Sanchez is nowhere near good enough and both Moura and Bergwijn only turn up once in every 10 games. Dunno how Harry Winks is still getting game time either.

Fair play to the spammers though - they deserved their luck.

I would like to see Lamela used as a central midfield option. He's a scrappy fucker and doesn't make as many mistakes as Sissoko.

Can we get Skipp back in January? If so then we should do it and start thinking about selling Winks.

We could get a decent wedge for Sanchez, Winks and Aurier that could allow Jose to massively improve the squad.

Just take it in your stride man, it’ll change next week and the pelters will only last until Tuesday. I only gave the United fans in my place pelters for an hour cos you know what’s around the corner for every fan ??

I honestly think if Bale wasn't on the bench waiting to come in we win that as mourinho would of shut up shop.

True. To be honest I try not to let Spurs get to me so much now but I guess I got caught up in all the transfer, United 6-1 and Bale hype that I let myself slip a bit.

Is always dangerous when you allow Spurs to dictate your happiness :D

so many individual errors in there and comes down to the fact the subs were all wrong, they were getting in behind our full backs far too often but instead of turning to Davies and Doherty on the bench we put on winks for our most effective midfielder and two more attackers, we played as if we were shutting up shop but the subs suggest the opposite. Huge fumble by Jose but we go again on Thursday

Yeah that's one, but I don't see how he cost us 2 goals
Look Sanchez scored an own goal and made a couple very poor passes his mistakes stood out so he'll be the target of blame however if you look back on that defence he played on the left and had much to do because Toby was atrocious. In fairness to west ham they kept going and we just crumbled worryingly.

You can all slate players all you like but the difference is we sat back in that second half looking to kill the game on a quick counter attack and it backfired on us.

1st goal was poor defending by Sissoko. Sanchez own goal was unlucky, their 3rd was a worldy that even bale would be proud of.

Yes we shouldn't have surrendered a 3 goal lead but we honestly looked knackered mid way through the 2nd half, especially kane. Felt regulion was positionally suspect in the second half too

But thats football.

My Dad was 18 when we last won the league. He's now 78. I said " I don't think you're going to see us win another title in your lifetime", He replied "At least I saw them win 2, I don't think you'll ever see Spurs win one" (I'm 54). Then my boy said " I don't think I will either". He's 14 :ROFLMAO:

Hard to come to terms with but ripping the players apart probably won’t help them or us.

You just have to credit Lanzini for the strike really.

Would it really be ‘ripping the players apart’ for Jose to remind them that with a minute to go, still clinging on at 3-2 after being 3 up it’s foolish to try playing out of a tight space as opposed to not launching it? Or trying to knock it round the corner on the 2nd ball in the last action of the game, again rather than putting your foot through it?

Seems pretty basic stuff to me.
