At 42 years of age you’d think that I’d become used to this felling, but it still feels like a right boot in the balls. Fair play to West Ham as they never gave up. Total sickner though

I just never feel safe with Sanchez at the back, even if he has a good game, I just don't feel safe. Just plays like someone who has a mistake in him regardless of the performance. You compare him to Alderweireld, who unfortunately has slowed down which can get him into trouble but he's so much more calm and composed and it's reflected in his game.

For Sissoko to not challenge that header for the first goal too. No surprise that those two played a part in the downfall.

Although if I'm honest, the way we conceded the game was more disappointing than the individual mistakes. Should have been a 5 or 6-0 game not a 3-3.

Sanchez is so shit in the air. I don't believe we would have necessarily conceded those goals if Dier was playing.

Bale comes on, we concede 3. Never win with Bale in the side. Great, we have to go through this again ?

We went to sleep the moment we went 3-0 up. It’s such a fucking stupid thing to do, because as soon as you concede it’s game on and you can’t just flip the switch and start playing again. With our set piece defending and individual players’ penchant for stupid mistakes (especially Sanchez and Aurier), it’s a recipe for fucking disaster. We need to be much more ruthless, we can’t see games out in first gear with the defenders in our lineup.

midfield lost control after Winks came on for Ndombele, it actually reminded me of Everton again. Don’t think he can play alongside Sissoko.

Sanchez just doesn’t seem comfortable on the left side of the defense. Also those late Aurier fouls always kill me. Rough to watch.

as i said earlier in this thread, every time we are building momentum, every time there is excitement and a feel good factor about the club, every time we have a winnable game next to really make a statement, we shit the bed.

every time, always forever and ever

All Aurier had to do was hoof it upfield but he takes a ( poor touch ) and then gets mugged off the ball.

That result was dreadful, 82 minutes played and 3 up. Its honestly unacceptable.

Jose needs to really make some big calls after this result. Certain players need to be dropped. We should have put the game to bed, but to concede like that is dreadful.

Whilst the subs killed of momentum at 3-0 up you cannot blame Jose for wanting to rest Tanguy and Son.

To think some of us during the chase of skiniar, thinks that our existing centrebacks are sufficient..
Doesn't matter if we had Vertonghen or King in their prime, as a team we defend like shit. The defensive effort from Son and Bergwijn was shit, and Bale or Lucas were no better. Too many player were strolling around the whole 90. We defend with six players in most games.

I had the opportunity to cash out my draw bet at 3-0 up for a small recoupment.

But I left it in. Pleased I did. FFS.

Real lack of intensity through the entire second half, as if we felt we could just have a kick about. Was asking for trouble. I'd have said we were lucky not to concede sooner, but then at least we'd have had more time to react.

A title challenge is begging to be had but only if we start keeping clean sheets. I really hope I'm not still left ruing our failure to land Skriniar come May. That one top defender might have proven the difference.

So so frustrating. Our window was almost too good, to the point you're now left wishing we could have just gone that extra inch. At this point we can only pray that Rodon turns out to be the miracle man, and is ready to step up overnight.
