I hate this fixture. Typical Derby, form goes out the window and its hard to call a result. If Jose can get them focused then it should be a spurs victory... but.... its never usually straight forward.

They are playing quite well, a hard working Moyes side.

For that reason The Argentinian duo start for me. Needs the fight from the front and the attitude. Unusually i'd pick Sissoko for this game, work rate. Can be swapped for Ndombele if more finesse is required.

Lloris

Doherty Dier Toby Davies

LoCelso Hojbjerg Sissoko

Lamela Kane Son

I'd want to see Ndombele as a staple starter to be honest, as long as he's fit enough. We may get more steel from Sissoko, but I think Ndombele can potentially enhance our ability to score, create and flow to the degree that it far outweighs what Sissoko may bring.

Depends is Lo Celso is fit. If he is, replace Sissoko with him from the 11 against United and have Bale off the bench. If he's not fit, I think a team like this would be interesting and could help with the set piece issue some people have raised. I also really like the back three system for this group of players, especially our full-backs:

Lloris
Sanchez - Dier - Davies/Toby
Aurier - Hojbjerg - Ndombele - Reguilon
Lamela - Kane - Son

Hart - Davies/Toby - Doherty - Winks - Sissoko - Bale - Lucas/Bergwijn

Lloris

Aurier
Dier
Sanchez
Reggie

PEH
Ndombele
Lo Celso

Bale
Kane
Son

Subs: Hart, Doherty, Alderweireld, Davies, Lucas, Dele, Lamela

* Lamela for Bale if not fit enough to start.

Don't think we need big Mo for this one, as we'll need to break them down.

Can't fit Bergwign or Winks in, and forgot about Vinicius!

That's the eleven I'd pick, don't envy Jose selecting the match day squad!
Not a chance Vinícius doesn’t make the bench

Bloody hell, the competition for places now. What a difference a summer makes. Think Sissoko might retain his place and Lamela drops to the bench for Bale. Vinicius on the bench to throw on for the last 25 mins. Lo Celso on the bench too if he's fit

Lloris; Doherty, Sanchez, Dier, Reguilon; Hojbjerg, Ndombele, Lo Celso; Lamela, Son, Kane

Bring Bale on for 30 or so, depending on how the match is playing out.

Potential team for Sunday...

Lloris

Aurier
Dier
Sanchez
Reguilon

Hojbjerg
Lo Celso
Ndombele

Bale
Kane
Son

Bench: Hart, Doherty, Toby, Sissoko, Lamela, Lucas, Vinicius

That matchday squad can't even fit these in...

Gazza
Davies
Tanganga
Winks
Bergwijn
Gedson
Dele

What is Jose going to do?! Already looking back at it and I'm sure I'll be wrong as Davies will be in the squad but don't see who I can drop. Tanganga only out of it for me because he's injured. Again, Bergwijn only out because he's still not 100%.

West Ham are all about quick transitions, so maybe Sissoko gets the nod to help out with those. Other than that, I think the best bet is to have Bale come off the bench, both fitness wise and to let him get his groove on against tired legs.

Think it'll be the same 11 that started against Man United.

Aurier has looked solid in all games he has played so far this season.

And even if it was only 1 that is still 1 more than Doherty.

Not that Doherty has been very poor - so that isn't meant as %%"% on Doherty. Right now Aurier looks like the better player. That can change as the season goes along.

Depends who's in better shape returning from internationals. Think we might see quite a surprise team given a few players will have played 3 games.

We won our last game 6-1.

It would be madness to change it.

Bale to come off the bench.
Any other time it would. But international break with 3 games comes in between. I’d be surprised if we play the same team. But I have a feeling those we’d like to be in will be much different than those who will be in. Much also depends on the fitness of Kane.

Maybe not madness if resting players who have played 3 games last week (for us) and 3 games this week (for their countries), or anyone showing signs if fatigue or injury.

No it is not. Mourinho is setting up a team that should exploit the weaknesses of the opponent and I doubt that Manchester and West Ham have the same weaknesses. And players have probably a different level of fitness and freshness after either being on international duty or staying at Hotspur Way.

I'd be amazed if he picks the same 11. He's had certain players at home with him, and others that have played a lot of football. We have lots of games coming up. I think Jose will pick his teams based off of what he thinks will get us two wins over the week and not who played in the 6-1 win against united.

I think it’ll be:

——————Lloris
Doherty—Toby—Dier—Reguilon
———Hojbjerg—Sissoko
—————-Lo Celso
Bale————Kane————Son

Subs: Hart, Aurier, Davies, Winks, Ndombele, Lamela, Lucas

We have such strength in depth now, it’s incredible: that 18 leaves out Sanchez (late back from S America), Bergwijn, Dele, Vinícius and others. We all want to see Tanguy alongside Hojbjerg & Gio, but I wonder if Jose may make us wait for that still.
