The difference is that when Spurs play him while not fully fit, Spurs are the ones assuming the risk that it turns into an injury that keeps him out for 3 or 4 weeks. When England do that, it’s still Spurs assuming the risk of him missing 3 or 4 weeks. Southgate can decide to take a risk knowing that if it goes wrong he’s only going to be without Kane for one more international break - or knowing Kane he would probably return just in time for the next international break so England could take the same risk all over again.
Well there is risk from an international perspective too. England would really not want him to just be coming back from injury before playing matches. In fact they would want international players to be playing regularly, maintaining both there match fitness and form.

But, I think we would still play him even if it was England that assumed the risk. Say towards the end of the season or say before an international break. If it's just friendlies, fine, but this is a competitive fixture regardless of what value you give it. We wouldn't rest Kane in a competitive fixture before an international match and nor can we expect England to do so. Similarly, England could argue in our cramped run out Kane shouldn't have played as much, or at the very least been substituted earlier in the Europa League and against Man utd as those games were won by half time. In fact, any muscle issues are most likely as a result of Tottenham taking risks that have not benefited the national team.

The way I see it, this is about tottenham fans prioritising Tottenham ahead of England, which is valid. To not want him to play, is absolutely valid, so is thinking England should not start him if there are fitness worries. But, Kane will be desperate to play and England will want to play him if they can, and fans just have to deal with it, rather than create some sort of negative narrative around southgate and England acting in their own interest. Which is Southgate's job btw.

Don’t understand how Kane is injured yet England won’t release him back to us, yet Sterling is injured and didn’t even have to go over there to be checked? ?‍♂️
Because the so called big teams United, City, Liverpool cry like babies n England give in and always have done.

Good to see something happened which let you all get up in arms about. He wasn't even on the bench vs Wales, it's a light muscle injury, sounds like he's not being risked today and you're still somehow getting upset and pointing fingers at the England camp. Muscle injuries happen in training, if it was because he overplayed then it's our fault.

He should be released from duty and returned to spurs for assessment if he’s not fit to play. He’s not there for morale, that’s Gary’s job

It's a light injury, he's probably going to be fit for the next game. He's also England Captain and probably takes that responsibility seriously even if you lot don't care about it.

I care about seeing my dream front 3 of Kane, Son and Bale vs wet Spam!

If he's fit enough for the next England game then he'll be fit for that so stop being a bunch of whingy bitches. He's not being overplayed by England, Jose got right on top of that. If anything we want him to play at least 1 game to keep his match fitness up.

Kane is on the bench, so stories of his leg amputation have been overzealous I'd say. If anything it sounds like it's probably nothing and Jose has forced Southgate to be extra cautious. He's doing us a huge favour.

Looking at that line up I’m expecting Kane will come on asEngland are invariably left blunt and chasing against a far superior Belgian side. That might be the most unbalanced side I’ve ever seen any manager pick for any match ever, and that including Juande Ramos.

Trust them to do what?

The reality is that while we prioritise our club, the national team is there to serve their own interest. As they should. It is unlikely they would play Kane if there is a serious worry that it would result in injury, because it is likely to hinder the national team. But, Southgate and England are absolutely in their right to play Kane if he is available, even if he does have a minor muscle problem. The national team doesn't exist to serve us. Players risking injuries in the national team is part of the parcel of having good players and people should deal with that.

I guess what I'm saying is it's not a question of trust. The national team will do what is best for them. These things are not always opposed to the interests of the club. But, ignoring Mourinho intentionally using the media to put pressure on England, it really isn't the responsibility of England and Southgate to wrap our players in cotton wool. They have already made sure that players which played a lot sat out of the team the other day, there really isn't much more you could ask for. Regardless of what you think of the nations league, it's competitive football and you have some people who are very happy to judge Southgate on the basis of how well England do in this competition, so he is absolutly justified in picking the best players available to him.

England have a greater pool of players to call from incase anyone gets injured. If Kane gets injured, we (Spurs) have to rely on Vinicius, while Southgate can go on and choose Ings, DCL, Abraham, Nketiah etc to replace him. They might not get the same quality of player as a replacement but the national team has a flurry of options to minimize the loss of a player.

I can understand him being kept around, however I do not have any faith in the England medical staff. Dele came back from multiple England camps injured.

The problem is that Kane, whether for Spurs or England, always wants to play. We can't expect Southgate to rest him if Harry is in his ear telling him he is fit.

As he gets older, Harry just needs to be more realistic about managing his limits.
