I'm glad we got Mourinho. I like him

There I said it.

Feel like we can do something this season.

I really like him. Fed up of playing attractive/attacking football and not winning anything and constantly failing when the going gets tough. Lets be tough and ruthless and fucking win good bad or ugly and win something he is the man to turn us into this

We're seeing the first signs of Jose's patented "us against the world" mentality. He's done it at all of his "smaller" jobs - Porto, Inter and his first stint at Chelsea. Bring the dressing room together, circle the wagons, make it clear that every other fucker is out to get us and only we can help ourselves and rely on and fight for each other.

If he manages it he'll have success at Spurs. It looks like it might be happening.

It leaves no room for those without the fight to pull it off. I think that says a lot about what's happening with Dele.
I wonder if Dele holidaying with the likes of Maddison doesn't help his cause?

Jose became quite paranoid about his players being too close to other teams players (Casillas).

Not saying Dele is dishing out secrets but he does seem to be very social and heavily around that scene that seems to be very immature.

Compare it to the Argentine boys and Dier who were going out doing paddleboarding and stuff.

Negatives (get them out of the way)
Sluggish starts will cripple us. This sit in style doesn’t work for us, we lack the confidence and concentration at present to soak up sustained pressure. When we play so static and pedestrian, it’s awful to watch. Sissoko is too limited technically to be part of a progressive midfield. We need to address the genuine striker shaped hole in the squad (beyond Kane), as with a focal point who can make the ball stick, we look a different team. Our accuracy has improve, be that players carrying the ball too far and coughing up possession, or the simple inability choose the right pass and to find a teammate with a simple pass, too slow to second balls also. Lloris distribution at times just hands over the ball also.

Now that’s out of the way.... Positives
Two full backs who both get forward suddenly makes us far less predictable. Reguillon will be a massive asset, and may just draw the attention from the RB.
Dier, massive character, moving back to CB will be the making of him.
Hojbjerg already looking like a leader in the middle also (worryingly I’m not sure we have another player to replace him stylistically if he’s out) . The change to a midfield 3 absolutely frees up Ndombele to play heads up. His turnaround in application could be huge. I actually think Lamela would be better suited to the CM 3 rather than attacking, he has the engine and the ability, but for a forward he perhaps lacks explosiveness.
The second half was a world away from the first, and a lot of the errors I stated above became less evident. Confidence is key, and hopefully that could be a corner turned, make no mistake that was a decent Chelsea selection.
Finally, how much more interested does Bale look? If he truly has rediscovered his passion by coming home, we could see a player level after level above what Real have seen for the past couple of seasons.
Great post game interview from Jose.

My boss is a Chelsea fan.

Earlier, I was like, 'Thank God I've got the day off tomorrow!'

Now, I'm like, 'Maybe I should log on for a few minutes tomorrow...'.

Turns out when you have a left back that offers genuine width on the left and a bonafide attacking threat, the whole team looks a bit better... who'd have guessed?!

I genuinely don't think the football is negative or unattractive.

Today was just a cobbled together side and we did what we needed, but Southampton and Newcastle had real attacking teeth. It's not high percentage possession football but it's not lacking in attacking intent.

And we look so less fucking scared when not in possession now.

Yes it's a 7.45 kickoff and we kick off at 8.
Damn. May have to be a two device job. It would have been nice to watch knowing we're through and one of those are out. Hopefully Brighton knock United out too.

Ah damn it they took off Bale's thing and went straight to SSN!

I dont believe it. I'm so chuffed. I fkin hate those tossers. And to win a penalty shoot out! We're not that lucky. I turned off and went to bed knowing there wasnt a fkin cat on hells chance we'd go through. Curiosity got the better of me. I took a quick sneaky peak at my phone.

I’ve genuinely never seen Jose like this at any point in his career.

The guy is fired up and absolutely loving his job, and clearly has a lot of love for the squad and the project.

People still trotting out the dismal anti-Jose cliches about him being past it, about us having no tactics, about being a poor man manager, about being the wrong man for the job...

At best, they’re not paying attention.
At worst, they’re twats with agendas.
