If this information means Skriniar only if we sell to ambitious prices, we could get into a struggle. Hopefully at least this one is on track.

What I understand from Dragon’s latest itk is that Levy is keen to do business now (because other clubs will be struggling) in the sure knowledge that there are some very advantageous deals to be done.

The 16/17 Alli may be worth 70m (probably more), but the current iteration isn't worth anything like that.

And certainly not in a Covid economy.

Dele was touted with a price tag of 100m when there were rumours of Barca a few years ago.

I'd take 50m now.

FWIW I read dragons post as Daniel now knows he can take advantage of struggling clubs more due to no gate in October and the foreseeable. Atleast I hope that’s what he means!

Especially who should be the buying club right now? Maybe Bayern could be in there for a loan with an option to buy like they did with Coutinho as they are very low on numbers in the squad. But hopefully they havent seen Dele play the last two years....

Anyway, cheers as always for the information

No money in the game and so called businessmen in the game had no idea this was coming as they are idiots, any deals actually made have been bargains this window and we still wont lower valuations for our players we desperately want out in order to bring in players we desperately need in. That is the state of play today i guess. 6 days before the first window shuts. Oh dear.

Why do you always end every post with a negative there's times you make some good points and arguments so I don't want to ignore you but every post has to end as if you'll never see another rainbow.

The notion that Daniel Levy has been entirely surprised by the latest announcement on COVID restrictions is absurd. Guaranteed that he and the directors will have considered and prepared for every eventuality.

That’s not to say that Dragon’s info is wrong. I don’t doubt that Spurs will now have to look for deals on different terms. But I equally don’t doubt that this was always the plan if fans weren’t allowed back.
no one runs a business on hypothetical financial scenarios. Esp those that have compound risk and uncertainty. That is the equivalent of gambling. No one would depend on aligning to a budget that is dependent on outcomes draped in profound unknowns. That would be sheer idiocy.
I don’t doubt we have to be very careful with what we spend, regardless of what may happen with fans. I can see that Jose being ok with Dele going if it may help bring in some higher quality players in CB and striker area.
also, as others itk alluded... this next week will see many teams blink, as they’re running out of runway when it comes to a game of brinksmanship.
I will openly admit to be naive and far too hopeful, but based on what they are all saying, it feels like we will get Jose what he needs by the time both windows close.

The market will be swamped over the next few days with clubs trying to offload those surplus to requirements. Even moreso than other years due to the pandemic and the loss of projected revenue. I appreciate that Daniel might sniff out a deal or two with struggling clubs but we have to appreciate also that we may have to move our own on for less than they may be worth.

jose will deny it but dele was only player of value he felt could do without once the tangy sale did not happen, the money would be spread out Imo , Jose is pushing him out to strengthen team
Mourinho loves a sacrificial lamb. He’s done it wherever he has been. So can totally understand this. Expendable.

There are some top class bed wetters on here. We can debate if Levy is a football man, but those doubting his business mind, particularly at a time like this need to take a look at themselves.
Tough as it might sound, the best business men always do well out of any form of monetary crisis if they can use it to their advantage in any way.

Well I have to say that if we genuinely believed that we’d definitely have crowds in October and then gradually and smoothly onto full capacity then we are more naive and foolish than I thought.

There is a difference between what you want to happen and what is likely to happen.

I don’t buy it because it goes against everything we know about levy. He’s risk averse. There is zero chance he would operate in this window based on the premise crowds were coming back from october in any form.

Surely anyone that has lived through his running of the club or see how he behaves in the documentary sees a man who doesn’t like to be in control 100% of the time. He doesn’t do situations he can’t control how he wants to.
Nobody running a PL club is stupid, greedy maybe, but that’s another thing entirely. I wouldn’t call Levy greedy, he likes to extract every penny he can from deals and this will become more evident next year, hopefully to our benefit.

I wouldn't worry about them not getting it from your hints mate, I said it outright backend of July/early August.

Coming to realise with every new update all previous one are discounted by all the goldfish like fanny munchers.

Yes yes, I know, and all the cock smokers too.
