Who knows how badly Dele's thrown his toys out the pram, but I can understand him being livid with being dropped whilst the likes of Davies, Winks, Dier have been putting in trash performances for months and get picked every week.
I get the point but Dele has a much higher ceiling than those mentioned, so when he's not performing it's more of a loss.
Plus, we have less option with the other's positions than we do with Dele.

Once we turn the likes of Winks, Davies, Dier and Lucas into just squad players, we'll be a scary team.

Not sure a PEH + Winks combo even dominates a midfield like Newcastle's tbh

Not too fond of our line up TBH.. So surprised at Mourinho persistent of starting some players who really are mediocre at best.

I was thinking about this. I think for Jose atm, he’s really going for safe and steady.
He’s obvs not going all in to win games by three or four he just wants steady, ‘reliable’ and unspectacular, to get a job done.

Id live us to okay a formation that gets as many of our best players as possible into their best positions.
For me that’s Son and Kane up top together.
PEH and GLC in midfield
Reg and Doc at fullbacks
Bale in the 10 (his words for his favoured position)

happy then for Jose to pick his faves Dier, Davies as two of the three CBS

I think it's clear by now that Mourinho favours those players that put the effort in, rather than those who put the best performances in. If this is how he wants to build the team and squad then I'm behind him.
I don’t even see any more effort from the likes of Davies or Dier, both of them play lazy passes all the time. Lucas may run around, but it almost always amounts to giving the ball away cheaply so what’s the point?

I think we'll win this match, but at what point do you look at the performances of certain players and realize you can't start them in the all-important league matches? These stats below represent a pretty large sample size:

Lucas Moura: 0 goals in his last 22 league matches (almost all starts).

Harry Winks: 0 goals and 0 assists since January 2019.

Ben Davies: 0 goals and 0 assists since April 2018.

Mourinho hopefully can get away with it today, but starting with the United match, he can't keep playing the above three players. There's too much pressure on Lo Celso to be the creative force in this first XI.
Yes but we must keep Lucas for the CL semi finals.

Now we know why Danny Rose had a grievance

He may not have been performing but so are others perhaps yet theyre in the team.

I expect Newcastle to sit deep today and grind out a goal like last year.. the man who never score, joelinton

I agree in principal, but it's not just a matter of getting Reguilon fit. He is still developing, and fans must let him do that. He isn't an automatic for the starting line up yet.

Fair point.
He did get 31 starts for Sevilla last season.

formation holds tho. I’d still prefer 3bs allowing the rest of the team to go play. PEH as a shield. Dier can step up if needed rather than Winks always stepping back.
Davies can play as a wing back or as the third CB with Sess (appreciate that is def less likely as he’s way down Jose’s pecking order)

It sort of makes sense today doesn’t it? Newcastle have quite a bit of pace and the squad will need managing over the next week.

I love the man, but his pace is killing him. Everton game he got completely fucked by Richarlison

I worry about Newcastle today. If they manage to be the better team, they might win.
I’m going to take a risk on my personal reputation here by saying that if they score more than us then they will definitely win. I’ll just back that up by saying that we will win, draw or lose today.
