The squad is brimming with internationals, but I don't recall ever having 4 "World class" players before. I include Lloris and Son with Kane and Bale. Reguilon potential... Plus one of, if not THE, preeminent managers of the last 15 years. What a time to be a Spur.
Lloris, Toby, Jan, Dembele, Eriksen, Kane.

Yep, got a little over excited there. Still, if it all clicks, I'd say we probably have a better supporting cast this time around.

Both King and Dembele were amazing, best in their position, but injuries held them back, otherwise I reckon they'd have been prized away from us (even King), if the money had been good enough.

Now I feel we're in amongst the top top clubs players want to play at. If we get CL back, we're almost on a par with anyone as a destination for talent.

On paper, yup. When we stop playing like cretins I’ll get excited

TBH, whilst that was some team, I wouldn’t have said Mabbutt was world class. His partner that season (Gough) was probably better, but not world class either. Waddle was certainly World class but probably not until a couple of years later.

At that stage King (if he ever was) and Van Der Vaart were both certainly the wrong side of their world class years, and the other 2 were still potential. This is first time we have had side where you could say 4 playing for us are still in their world class years (assuming Bale is still in that category, and Lloris can be put in that category)

A team with 7 world class players would win everything.

For me world class means being in the top 5 players in your position in the world.

Lloris is arguably there. Kane also. Bale hasn’t been for 2 years (as he’s not played). Son knocking on the door, but there’s other WFs who are better.

I'd extend world class to 10 for each position, personally

I was 6. Don't recall it personally, but my Uncle has waxed lyrical...

We should do a thread on team comparisons, year by year.

Who'd be the ultimate Spurs team? I reckon Bale and Kane would be in there.
